We are delighted to announce that David Shriver will be joining the board of trustees of Creative Folkestone.
David is currently Senior Advisor to Ocado Group, the FTSE100 global technology business. In this role, he advises the company on stakeholder engagement, communications, and corporate reputation. He was recognised as one of the UK’s most influential PR professionals in the 2024 PR Week Power Book. His board experience includes serving as a trustee of the Polka Theatre, the UK’s leading theatre for children; Wimbledon BookFest, a prominent arts and education charity and London’s leading literary festival; and as a Supervisory Board member of zooplus AG, the SDAX-listed online retailer.
David joins our board at an important time as we embark upon an exciting phase of work leading towards Folkestone Triennial 2025, the largest exhibition of newly commissioned art presented in the UK. His extensive experience will help guide Creative Folkestone to inspire more people than ever before through our work and help us create fresh ways to engage with our stakeholders and tell the story of Creative Folkestone to new and wider audiences.
Creative Folkestone’s Chief Executive, Alastair Upton, said: “We are delighted to welcome David to our board. His passion for people, communications, and of course for the town of Folkestone, is evident, and I am confident he will bring us fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and set the challenge for us to amplify our message and open the door to new audiences and supporters. Welcome to the team, David.”

This play is a hit. Absorbing, entertaining, and moving. The kind of play that makes the @NationalTheatre the great showcase of new drama that it is. Congratulations to everyone involved in #UnderdogTheOtherOtherBronte
