Our AVID students were challenged in an at home scavenger hunt of their college house. One of our first in was from our Syracuse group and to good not to share. They had to find an item starting with the first letter to spell out their college mascot. @SyracuseU @AVID4College

We challenged our students with @TexasLonghorns Where’s Hook’em for our virtual Fun Thursday this week! Each correct response got students names on the wheel for a chance to win an e-gift card to Starbucks! @AVID4College

Our AVID Club attended the SPURS AVID Celebration yesterday, winning the most spirited school for the second year in row! This year the prize was SPURS fan tunnel tickets where students got to high five the hands of the SPURS players! #GoSpursGo @AVID4College @CCISD

The TAMUCC Islanders Women’s 🏀 team visited our AVID 8th graders today for the fifth year in a row! Lots of college talk and knowledge shared. Our 8th graders always look forward to this day! We look forward to supporting them at their games this season🌊🤙🏻! @Go_Islanders @CCISD

Our AVID students were inspired by the 4th grader from Florida who was bullied for creating his own college t-shirt on his school’s spirit day. Today was our spirit day, so our AVID kids came out in full support as they created and wore their own shirts too! @AVID4College

Back with our seating chart challenges this week. Fun way to start the class period and change up the seating arrangements for the day. Goal is to have students sitting and interacting with different people everyday! Creating that AVID Family atmosphere! @AVID4College

We practiced the 5 phases of Focused Note Taking this week. Ending the week with phase 5 (Applying Learning) to use our notes over the card game Spoons. Students had to use their notes to make sure the game was played correctly. Definitely showed the importance of taking notes!
