Interesting that Apple's CPU could process the most branches per cycle in this test (>1 per cycle).

Apple's processors have the best single threaded performance to my knowledge, and this branch prediction is probably a contributing factor.

If an outside computer can read CPU temps of air gapped computers then they are not air gapped. If a few computers are air gapped together and read each other's CPU temps, that's fine.

Regulation destroyed the nuclear power industry entirely in this country. Boeing hasn’t launched a new airliner in 22 years—but regulation didn’t prevent them from screwing up the 737 MAX and killing 346 people.

Regulation doesn’t prevent the safety problems it allegedly solves. It just allows the incumbents to be fat, lazy and dumb—and to operate as if they are branches of the government.

AI was fortunate to not have to run straight into use cases where there existed laws and regulations to prevent it from the start.

If they keep pushing for laws and regulations (in the poorly planned manner that they are today), they will move as slowly as crypto did.

I am going to compare the AI industry to the crypto industry a little. Content like this along with many other missteps by people working in AI is going to slow AI progress more than they think/want.

The AI industry is about to run into the problem that crypto has had.

If you look at heavily regulated industries where they attempt to use AI, you will see much slower progress.

For example, using AI in medicine (to read scans or do other stuff). It took many years for the government to allow the use of AI in reading medical scans.

Have used Grok Bot. Also just briefly tried Muse.

These things all feel the same. And I feel most people don't actually have much use for these AI agents.

They need to drastically increase capabilities of these agents before ordinary people will use them daily.
