Strategic Flight Path to ICAO Compliance:
Harare, Zimbabwe - The Airports Company of Zimbabwe (Private) Limited (ACZ) Executive, Management and Board Members have embarked on a critical four-day strategic training at the Rainbow Towers Hotel, focused on refining airport leadership in aviation policy making.
Facilitated by @ACIWorld represented by Aviation Developer Mr. Marttijs (Matty) Smith and attended by Board Chairman Adv. T. Muhonde, Vice Board Chairperson Dr. S. Gwatidzo and CEO Mr. T. Gusha, this high-level engagement is set to conclude on Thursday.
This strategic deep-dive directly addresses the imperative for high-level management and board oversight to be fully aligned with international civil aviation policy frameworks.
The focus on policy-making for airport leadership is a tangible commitment to @icao's global objectives for safety, security and efficiency. Specifically, this training bolsters the governance structures required to effectively implement the holistic, performance based approaches mandated in areas such as the Safety Management System (SMS) framework (as outlined in ICAO Annex 19) and the continuous improvement principles of the Training Development Guide (Doc 9941).
By strengthening strategic policy formulation at the apex, @Airports_Zim is ensuring its regulatory compliance and operational safety culture permeate every layer of the organisation, thereby enhancing its standing in the global air traffic network.
Strategic leadership training has been shown to reduce the risk of major aviation safety incidents by up to 70% through improved command and risk culture.
