The society accommodates everyone from A to E it just so happens that our country is a mediocre one. In the USA for example,A students who go to Ivy leagues sit in big companies and top government jobs they’re basically the engine and heart beat of America,most of these tech guys are A students that’s why most of them drop out of Harvard and Stanford and not community colleges. At the same time these smart people who are policy makers have made a conducive environment that has made it possible for average students to still thrive in informal sectors as well. That’s how it should be!
Someone like me who got a straight A and went into medical school I have no business knowing the streets I should be saving lives in the hospital or for engineers,lawyers etc they should be at big offices doing what technocrats are supposed to do and getting paid handsomely well. These are the people that move the country forward. People like Kibaki and those who went to school during the colonial period are actually responsible for the systems that we have.
Our systemic societal failures is what makes us think we’re are better than others just because we scored better grades or because you have more money than those who did better than you in school. Ideally a smart man shouldn’t struggle making money and an average person shouldn’t also struggle making money either from their talent or skills. This discussion is happening because we’re simply a failed state!
