📍Nairobi 📆3-4 June 2026
Following the invitation extended to @FPCIRGL by the @UN_Women and @un_greatlakes office of the Special Envoy, I had an opportunity to deliver initiative taken by the forum on key Peace and Security initiave as an attempt to promote peace, security and development in our region. I argued that, upcoming Women Parliamentary Conference in Tanzania is coming as a structural contribution to the implementation of UNSCR 1325 and the @_ICGLR_ RAP on WPS. The #WPC will serve as a benchmark to which legislative power meets lived experience-a platform that will see the aspirations of Women Advirory Body in GLR are channeled into policy, law and regional commitment.
Women’s voices, youth perspectives, and community realities are essential to peace. The High‑Level WPS meeting in Nairobi brought partners together to make that a priority. #WPS#PeaceBuilding#GreatLakesRegion
