I spent a day trying to answer a question I kept seeing everywhere: can designers skip Figma and work directly in code?
The answer is more interesting than yes or no. https://t.co/L4Zg4pGnvb
Chennai's loss is Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Pune's gain and not Madurai or Coimbatore or Trichy. The day the TN Govt understands this is when the city can regain its mojo in GCC & Tech scene!!
Nothing beats having an airport just a 20-minute drive or metro ride away. A fancy, bigger airport is great, but not when it takes 1.5 -2 hours to get there. Chennai definitely needs a bigger airport, but keeping one within the city for domestic travel would be ideal.

Two truths can coexist.
I have said before that one group controlling a large share of India’s airports and ports is not healthy for the country’s development.
The group is also spreading fast into other critical areas such as power, renewables, cement, copper and mining.
That needs to change.
Equally, Elon Musk has spent the last few days pressing India to clear Starlink.
Starlink is not just a technology, and Musk is not merely an entrepreneur.
In a national crisis, Starlink could be used in ways that threaten India’s security.
Musk is now one of the most influential private actors in America, not just the richest person or a leading tech entrepreneur.
He should not be treated as a neutral commercial partner. Elites in the US establishment do not want India to reach the kind of self sufficiency China has achieved.
In a major crisis, Musk and his companies could align with US policy in ways hostile to Indian interests.
In the latest move, the US has suspended green card sponsorship filings by Indian IT companies, including TCS, Infosys and Wipro, along with several other firms.
I would not be surprised if India faces tariffs as high as 100% for continuing to import oil from Russia.
The relationship between the US and India is under very serious strain.
America is becoming more and more hostile towards India.
The coming times are going to be very tough.
It is true that oligarchy exists in India.
It is equally true that Elon Musk cannot be relied on in a crisis and could become hostile to India.
Oligarchy is the internal problem that needs to be addressed.
Starlink is the external threat that should not be allowed in India.
We need to be extremely wary of Elon Musk.
New GCCs MoUs after TVK Govt :
1. 🇩🇪Nordex - 1,000 Jobs
2. 🇨🇭Chubb- 220 Jobs
3. 🇺🇸Walgreens - 250 Jobs
4. 🇬🇧EY (For Another Big Client) - 2,000 Jobs
5. 🇸🇪Sigma Tech - 600 Jobs
6. 🇺🇸Starbucks - 800 Jobs
➡️ Govt has also announced 3 GCC Specific Corridors in Chennai with higher FSI. New Govt seems very keen on attracting GCCs to Chennai. Way to go @Keerthana4VNR@CMOTamilnadu 🥳🙌
🚨List of project halted/status unknown after new TVK Govt took over :
1. Parandur Airport - Halted
2. Metro extension to Parandur - Halted
3. Sports City - Halted
4. ECR Flyover - Halted
5. Guindy-Velachery flyover - Halted
6. Coimbatore Periyar Library- Ready but no sign of inauguration
7. Hosur Tidel Park - Design ready, Environment Clearance filed. Stuck at tender stage
8. Hosur Knowledge Corridor- No work started
9. Coimbatore Cricket Stadium - No Bidders
➡️It's wise to drop unnecessary project like the ECR or the Velachery flyover but list doesn't look encouraging at all!
Chennai's fall started 🥹
Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amravati will be the three power hubs of south India
Tamil people will displace to Bengaluru/Hyderabad for higher jobs and living ☺️
Parandur's impact won't be felt today. It will be felt in the longer run. The same manufacturing capabilities especially electronics require air cargo infra which we simply don't have. Foxconn has already chosen Bengaluru for its largest Indian plant due to its superior air cargo infra. TN's Connectivity will be hit down the line especially when every major state is building so many airports. Chennai isn't getting a new airport in next 5-8 years with Parandur dropped. Take this in writing!
So with Parandur being dropped, say good bye to :
1. Airport City
2. HSR Station
3. Metro Extension
4. Expressway connectivity
The project had everything in place unheard of in India before. Many are celebrating this as a victory. Very disappointed @CMOTamilnadu sir
Beauty is 20yrs later when unemployment will be large in TN Chennai GDP will be way behind Bengaluru and Hyderabad, due to lack of quality international airport. A lobby will blame DMK for not building second airport for Chennai🤦♂️.
The biggest failure of TN is DMK not getting back to back governments.
🙇 Broo enga CM Anna Airport ah 2-3 years la finish panniduvaru bro. Our govt is godspeed. 👇 👇
#Chennai as of now is in Step 0.
Even if land acquisition happens twice as fast, flight will NOT takeoff from new airport before 2036.
Btw, #Parandur was on step 3 and to get there, it took 7 years. 😭🙇
Actual timeline -
How long does it actually take to build a #Greenfield #Airport from scratch?
Total Timeline: 10–12 years from site hunt to first flight ⏳
Step 1: Feasibility (1 – 2 yrs): Airspace analysis, soil testing 🗺️
Step 2: Approvals (2 - 2.5 yrs): Central ministry, eco-clearances, and defense nods 📜
Step 3: Land Acquisition (4 – 5 yrs): Buying thousands of acres and handling resettlement 🚜
Step 4: Financing & Tenders (1 yr): Private builders bid and secure funds 💰
Step 5: Construction (4-6 yrs): Building the runway, ATC, terminals, and securing the DGCA license 🏗️
I watched Felix from TVK debate @sumanthraman on India Today just now.
Bro unironically just said, "Trichy is in the center of the state and it just has a airport in the middle of the city. Why should everything go to #Chennai? We're bringing development to all of the cities and not just Chennai....There were three other sites chosen before #Parandur was selected."
The anchor had to step in and say those three sites were rejected by the central government.
Thooki vaaripodudhu idhellam keta.
Either change the decision or for godsake change the spokesperson for this topic.
It is on national television and people watching will think we're illiterate fools. 😭🙏
