Here is everything you need to know about the budget in simple terms.
@Fortuneochako1 has shared details from the FY 2026/27 budget.

Opiyo Wandayi says electricity prices have been reduced by KSh 0.2685 per unit and that people should thank the government.
I love how this government works.
Increase electricity by KSh 6, then reduce it by 26 cents.
Increase fuel by KSh 60, then reduce it by KSh 10.
Create the problem, partially reverse it, then demand applause for the "relief."
They seem to assume nobody keeps track of the original price. This is why this govt must go.
Katiba Institute Files Contempt of Court Application Over Secretive U.S. Ebola Facility, Condemns Continued Construction and Withholding of Documents:
We have filed an urgent contempt of court application at the High Court in Nairobi against the Kenyan government. The application addresses the blatant violation of existing conservatory and disclosure orders regarding the secretive U.S.-backed Ebola quarantine and treatment facility in Kenya.
Despite explicit court orders mandating the suspension of all plans to establish, operationalise, or approve the facility, construction and development have illegally continued. Furthermore, the authorities have defied court directives compelling the full disclosure of documents, agreements, and safety protocols regarding the facility to the public and the courts.

Ruto has now killed more Kenyans on Kenyan soil than Ebola has
Dear @USEmbassyKenya, are you happy that your Ebola facility is costing Kenyan lives?
KPLC could make significant money through leasing of its power grid and lines.
Remember the excitement when energy producers were allowed to sell electricity directly to consumers?
Many people assumed this would automatically lead to much cheaper power.
But here's the catch.
Electricity still needs power lines to reach homes, businesses, and factories.
And KPLC owns more than 160,000 km of transmission and distribution lines across Kenya.
This means power producers may be able to sell directly to customers, but they will still need access to KPLC's network to transport that electricity.
KPLC can charge wheeling fees (grid usage charges) for the use of its infrastructure.
Why does this matter?
Because those charges could reduce some of the savings people expected from direct power sales.
The power seller may change.
But the grid owner still gets paid.
Breaking: As promised, we reveal that Ruto is currently flying from Norway to Finland aboard the same chartered private jet we have been tracking, operating under call sign T7BBJ2 (Hex: 500517).
Most Kenyans are probably asleep right now, but it is important to keep a public record of these movements.
Also important, we have obtained additional information that may link the jet more directly to the President. We are still verifying the details and will only publish them once we are satisfied they are accurate.
If the information turns out to be correct, it could raise very interesting questions about the aircraft and its ownership.
What we can now say with confidence is that the jet is owned by an African entity. Flight records we have reviewed show that, outside South Africa, Kenya appears to be the only African country the aircraft has regularly visited in the past decade.
We have also encountered conflicting information relating to Chivayo, which is why we are taking extra time to verify everything before concluding.
The bigger issue remains the cost.
Many of these foreign trips have produced relatively modest outcomes. In Norway, for example, the headline announcement was around 1,000 jobs.
A fair question for taxpayers is this: Did that require the President, a chartered private jet, and a large delegation? Or could the same outcome have been achieved through a Cabinet Secretary, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya's ambassador, or other government officials?
Every hour spent on a chartered jet costs money. The more these flights continue, the more taxpayers are entitled to ask whether the benefits justify the expense.
That is why we will continue tracking these movements and publishing the information.

And to those irritated by us monitoring the President's travel, apologies in advance, because this is only the beginning.
Amazon will build its first African satellite ground station in Kenya under Amazon Kuiper Kenya Limited.
It will support internet speeds of up to 1,280 Mbps by linking satellites to global networks, competing with Starlink which offers speeds of about 50–250 Mbps.
Kenya Power will close all its physical payment counters by June 2027 as more customers shift to digital services.
Nyeri, Thika & Kisii counters will shut first in June 2026, followed by others, with Nairobi & Mombasa last in 2027.
Wait a minute
The judge in the Rigahthi Gachagua Impeachment case just stated that the 10th respondent / UDA filed written submissions on 24 August 2026
Today is 8 June 2026
Did the court just cite a document from the future? How's that even possible? Clarification is needed
Kenya’s businesses that collect customer data now must register with the data office
This comes after the regulator warned that firms that fail to comply risk fines of up to Sh5 million
[They must pay a fee, share details of the data they collect, and show how they protect it].
The FIST agenda is no longer confined to meeting rooms, policy papers, or political platforms, it is now firmly in the hands of the people.
Across the country, Kenyans are asking the same question: how can citizens continue paying for debts whose benefits they cannot see in their schools, hospitals, roads, industries, or livelihoods?
350 pages of judgment.
It could take the Judges between 3 and 5 hours to read every word. We could be here until 5:00 p.m.
Yet, this may become either the longest wait or the shortest wait of our lives, all depending on the final paragraph of this 350 page document.
I wait. We wait. Kenya waits.

Good morning Kenyans
Kenya plans to sell anonymised, non-personal data from platforms like eCitizen to businesses, researchers, and NGOs.
The plan aims to raise revenue and improve government planning.
[Personal data like names and ID numbers will not be included].
Safaricom plans to introduce Sh800 monthly internet with speeds from 10 Mbps.
They are also testing a pay-as-you-go Wi-Fi service called Wi-Fi Bamba where users can connect and pay without a fixed monthly plan
