🎉 Successfully brokered another 3-letter .COM today - and it came with a great reminder. 💼

Back in Sept 2022, buyer and seller were very close to a deal… and then the owner vanished:

• 64 emails
• Dozens of calls
• 14 months of silence

By Nov 2023, the buyer and I closed the file. Nothing more we could do.

Fast-forward to Oct 3rd, 2025 - the domain randomly popped into my mind as “one that got away,” so I sent a simple check-in:

“Would you be in a position to consider a sale during Q4? Please let me know when you’re ready to move forward and I’ll streamline the process.”

Weeks went by… and then out of nowhere:

“Yes, I think we can make this happen.”

And just like that - deal done.

THE LESSON:

If it’s the right buyer and a real offer, it’s always worth a 5-minute check-in down the road - even years later.
