APC CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR OYEBANJI ON EPIC RE-ELECTION IN EKITI STATE

The All Progressives Congress (APC) mightily congratulates His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his re-election as Governor of Ekiti State.

Governor Oyebanji's victory is epic as he becomes the first incumbent governor to win reelection in the state’s contemporary democratic history. This win is a loud demonstration of the confidence of Ekiti people in Governor Oyebanji, his visionary leadership, people-centered policies, and unflinching commitment to the development and progress of the state.

We applaud the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and all oversight stakeholders whose dedication and professionalism contributed to the successful conduct of the election.

The Party commends the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful conduct and enthusiastic participation throughout the electoral process. We remain exceedingly grateful for their steadfast support, and endorsement of our great Party, its policies and progressive ideals.

Today, I hosted the Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Mr. Ambroise Fayolle, and the Head of the EU Delegation to Nigeria, Mr. Gautier Mignot, at the Ministry.

The EIB's current €1.2 billion portfolio in Nigeria is a massive vote of confidence in our country's economic reforms and potential.

We had robust discussions on driving development finance that aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria Agenda 2050, and our upcoming National Development Plan (2026-2030). Together with our global partners, we are committed to unlocking sustainable growth and prosperity for all Nigerians.

Behind the scenes at the press briefing following today's 158th National Economic Council (NEC) meeting.

I joined Their Excellencies, the State Governors, to recap the key decisions we reached to move Nigeria forward.

Here are the main highlights from our briefing:
Disaster Preparedness: We reviewed funding to roll out the Anticipatory Action Taskforce (AATF) so we can protect our communities before economic or climate shocks hit.

Project Monitoring: The NEC Monitoring Committee is launching nationwide field visits to ensure government projects are delivered properly and on time.

Boosting Agriculture: We mapped out ways to clear bottlenecks at our borders and boost Nigeria's agro-export value chain to increase foreign earnings.

Regional Growth: We reviewed the new National Regional Development Policy (NRDP) to ensure balanced development across all zones.

Working closely with our state governors ensures that national economic planning turns into real impact for every Nigerian.
