I want to talk honestly about the juvenile piece of this - because it matters and because I've been in this work long enough to know the full picture. Diversion works. For a first-time juvenile offender who made a genuinely isolated mistake, community intervention, accountability, and support can change a trajectory.
I believe that. I've seen it. But here is what also happens: some juveniles are diverted once, then again, then again - without any meaningful consequence or change in behavior. Each time, a victim watches a system shrug. When a young person keeps reoffending, the answer is not more diversion. It is swift, certain, appropriate accountability - the kind that actually signals that the behavior has to stop.
I've prosecuted both ends of that spectrum.
I know the difference.

The Minneapolis DFL just endorsed Omar Fateh, a self-declared Democratic Socialist, for Mayor.
This is the result of a long, calculated takeover of our institutions by the far-left.

It started with Ilhan Omar, who turned her seat in Congress into a megaphone for fringe ideologies, and now they’re installing their next wave: Fateh, Mamdani, and a growing list of DSA operatives who want to remake America in the image of failed socialist regimes.

Make no mistake: this isn’t about helping working families. It’s about control, dismantling law enforcement, erasing economic freedom, and replacing accountability with ideological loyalty.
