Since the days following Emancipation, the Reels family dedicated themselves to farming, fishing, and surviving upon their expansive parcel of land nestled along the coastal lines of North Carolina's Silver Dollar Road.

Watch as they tell their story of being wrongfully convicted for “civil contempt” in 2011 and serving 8 years to still fighting for their right to pass their generational legacy on.
