Haruka has been subjected to very high and repeated levels of trauma.
Many only notice the obvious ones (being orphaned, many kidnappings, witnessing real and attempted murder, a SA attempt, an accident where her son could die and caused her coma, mass internet harassment, stalking from fans, inappropriate harassment as an idol, destruction of the orphanage, fearing for Kiryu's survival multiple times, battery, abandonment, grieving Kiryu when he faked his death, grieving Park who was becoming a mother figure, and I could be forgetting some).
But there are also other forms of severe psychological abuse she was subjected to.
Some during specific incidents (being too quickly invalidated by Kiryu in her justified fear of Hamazaki, without taking proper care of her emotions; Kiryu carelessly leaving her alone with fugitive Saejima who terrified her with his temptation to assault her, and not being properly reassured after that shocking event etc.).
Some permanent, across all of her life. The most important one is adultification. Due to her extreme intelligence and compassion, as well as her sense of responsibility and independence, she was prematurely treated like an adult. And even been made to take care of other children at the Okinawa orphanage, being put in a parent role already as a kid (even if the psychological term "parentification" is mostly used to refer to the kind of abuse where a child is made to act like the parent of their own parent, taking care of their emotional or physical needs or both, in a sense it could also apply here because she was often made to do what Kiryu or an educator should do). She was a convenient child for an often neglectful father like Kiryu, because he could trust her to fill the gaps in his parenting, especially when he left to take care of yakuza matters, to do avoidable jail time, or later when he disappeared (it's not clear to me if the Daidoji were simply funding Morning Glory or also hiring qualified educators to assist, but in the visible scenes no adults were there). Also with words, Haruka was always described as strong and mature beyond her age (e.g. by Kiryu, who also compared her to Yumi, and Sayama), which was true but shouldn't be used as an excuse to rob her of the right of being also childish and do things children do, having a normal childhood for what possible despite her disadvantaged circumstances.
Other two kinds of abusive behavior Haruka was subjected to came from Park, although I personally excuse her behavior because she was pursuing a win-win situation with that, and she also acted very positively to her, as well as funding the orphanage. Let me explain what I mean. Under normal circumstances, using a child as a proxy to achieve one's unfulfilled dreams (the idol career) would be abusive, a selfish act that doesn't let the kid being their own person. But in this case, Haruka really wanted to become an idol and that was a great opportunity for her, so it was a win-win situation that didn't traumatize her, which I excuse Park for (which I wouldn't if she simply forced that on a kid who had other dreams). Also, under normal circumstances guilt-tripping a kid about not disappointing their family and putting so much performance pressure on them, like Park did in one of her talks at the idol school, would be abusive. But I excuse Park because, having a disadvantaged background herself as well as having made it as an idol for a while, she understood perfectly the kind of strength and mindset Haruka had as well as her great talent, so she used that kind of tough love to motivate her to succeed in life, to give her a great opportunity orphans normally don't have. She was using a method that could harm a different kind of girl than Haruka because she was able to see it would have a good effect on her instead. This is my opinion, I don't find these two aspects of Park's behavior to Haruka as bad as I normally would, due to other factors making them into a win-win scenario, as well as how motherly and genuinely kind she was to her in other circumstances.
Last but not least, someone who indirectly caused much of Haruka's pain was Detective Date. He could probably use his connections to see that Haruka was taken care of by a more stable household, but he went ahead and suggested that none other than Dragon of Dojima became Haruka's guardian. That was a very irresponsible thing to do. I understand he was trying to save his friend Kiryu from the suicidal thoughts he was having, and that Haruka was also the daughter of his beloved Yumi so there was some logic to it. But still, that was the beginning of the end for Haruka and Kiryu both. The positive aspects of their relationship are not enough to compensate for the immense pain.
@hilladesira I'm glad someone's talking about it. I've been thinking about Haruka a lot, and the way Kiryu has shaped her, for better and for worse. How she's been present for all but like one of his fakeout 'deaths', etc. She really is her father's daughter, both the good and the bad.

Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance got a huge impact on every existing Monster Hunter on Steam.
Wilds, Rise and World have hugely increased the daily players these two days.
This is a great moment to jump into whatever mh you missed or to start the saga with full servers.
In my opinion, a more respectful way to feature/honor an artist should’ve been like it was done in yakuza 0 for Michael Jackson (miracle johnson). Simply ‘reviving’ Tupac for Stranger than Heaven for content (when there’s problems with his estate) doesn’t sit right with me.
@JrPhilgene@electricgold49 not only that. One of my fave youtubers that did a rewatch a few years back pointed out that even from the start, following the hero's journey, the call to action is not for Aang, it's for Katara.
Pride Month exists because LGBTQIA+ people spent generations being jailed, beaten, fired, disowned, denied marriage, denied healthcare, and treated like they were less than human simply for existing.
It’s not about “special rights.” It’s about equal rights, dignity, safety, and the freedom to live openly without fear.
No one “chooses” a life that comes with bullying, discrimination, rejection, and violence just for attention. Pride exists because too many people still think hatred is morality.

@meggiberranzan@ratbitebaby I think peeps just forget that Astarion's disapprovals, much like him, are dramatic af. Like he throws a giant tantrum when you don't kill yurgir but its like -5 approval max lmao. the -1's are him complaining mostly just for the love of the game cuz he can.
@kiryussideburns i think it did, tho i also never played the wii version. i grew up with the gc ver and then played wii u version when it came out. so I only knew X/Y and the bottom of the dpad which iirc is what tphd let you use.
@kiryussideburns my hatred for those dumbass stamps knows no bounds. HD had a lot of improvements but man it fucked some shit up. and now dusklight has added all the best parts of HD to gc so its an overall win. only thing i miss is having one more button to bind items to but eh.
@kiryussideburns it used to bug tf outta me. I worked so hard to get the magic armor, and then even with the giant wallet it burned through money too fast for it to be worth it. then tphd made it worse by changing all the rupee chests i knew to fuckass stamps. bless dusklight fr
