Young Kuki's response to the RNSOM Press Release dated June 10, 2024

✍️In response to the recent press statement by RNSOM, the Young Kuki expressed surprise at RNSOM for objecting to the shutdown called by the Kuki body along NH-37, considering the Rongmei's involvement in Tribal Solidarity March on May 3, 2023.

✍️The Kukis also respected UNC's 130-day Economic Blockade from Nov. 1, 2016, to March 19, 2017, despite its impact on their economy. 

✍️They also highlight the historical presence of Kukis in the region by mentioning the first MLA from Tamei was a Kuki man Mr. D.Kipgen in 1967.

✍️Looking at the historical accounts, many Rongmei villages were at one point in history occupied by the Kukis.
