I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
when other people wear U.S. open hats:
- SHEEP!!!
- wealth signaling
- probably didn’t even go 😒
when I wear a U.S. open hat:
- VERY sophisticated! (yet grounded)
- devoted fan/can name many players
- European...?
Dear ______,
Please excuse ______ from work on Wednesday, 9/9/2026.
We understand how important showing up is, but sometimes you have to make time for things you're passionate about. Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton put on an absolute stellar performance during their US Open quarterfinal, and ______ was a fully committed fan who was completely locked in from start to finish.
We appreciate your understanding and hope you can respect the commitment to the sport.
Thank you.
Pains me to say as a lifelong basketball player who is terrible at tennis, but I’m starting to realize that tennis players are the best all around athletes in sports.
Europe is being more affected by extreme heat than other parts of the world, but some cities are starting to make changes https://t.co/LciD2JopgT Paris and Barcelona in partic. Adaptation is great. It quickly becomes political too
SCÈNE GÉNIALE ENTRE STAN WAWRINKA ET MATTEO BERRETTINI ! 😂
En attendant la décision de la VAR sur un coup litigieux du Suisse, les deux joueurs ont préféré se prendre dans les bras et en rigoler ensemble. 😭
Ces deux gars-là. ❤
This is a better way to visualize Columbus’ voyages than the traditional way (that shows him traveling through a modern map)..
It looks a lot crazier and more daring when you see it as a trip into the unknown.
Stan Wawrinka conducting the crowd after his loss to Berrettini at the U.S. Open.
This is the last time he will ever conduct a Grand Slam crowd.
The crowd is savoring it… and so is he.
One. Last. Time. 🥹
Hooters is an alien concept to me; apparently means diff things to diff people https://t.co/xZCtPmVhYk This short piece talks about company’s origins, declaring bankruptcy, and trying to restart afresh. Questionable, but those female staff interviewed gave me fresh perspective
“yeah so it’s a 36mm datejust, wimbledon dial, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet. 36 is actually the classic size. 41 is kind of what you buy before you know anything about watches. the 36 wears bigger than you’d think because of the fluted bezel. that’s what people don’t understand. you can’t just look at diameter. lug-to-lug, wrist circumference, dial opening. it’s all about proportions. and the wimbledon dial is way harder to get. i mean, i didn’t buy it as an investment, obviously, but they hold value pretty well. it communicates that i have nothing to prove, which is something i work extremely hard to communicate.”
An insightful piece into just how much Roy Cohn moulded Trump as he went from errand boy to real estate mogul https://t.co/vc17BvJoA8 From pre-nups to needless obfuscation and a playbook that he still works today as President (e.g. blaming everyone but himself when he screws up)
