Even the author said so in one of her interview. For Kabru, Laios just dont care about him that much at the beginning

@blibbleglip @MizutamariVT Its not like Laios cant read people. He just hate people and dont care about, avoid deep contact, relationship with the majority of them due to his PTSD. So no, he is not really autistic, sometime he can even be very sharp at guessing people intent and feelings

@blibbleglip @MizutamariVT He has PTSD being treated awful by people. He has bad relationship due to misunderstanding with his dad. His only source of joy is the simplicity and accuracy of monster being written in books. It became his only source of confidence and passion.

Laios however is decisive, intelligent and is a genius at planning and adapting, his weakness can be covered by his talented and powerful agents and vassals
