Before posting about Nepal’s new leadership, I kindly request you to do proper research on Hon. Balendra Shah (Balen) @ShahBalen -the newly sworn-in Prime Minister of Nepal 🇳🇵.
Born on April 27, 1990 in Kathmandu, Balen Shah rose from the streets to the highest office through sheer talent, courage, and vision.
He first gained fame as a powerful rapper whose music fearlessly spoke about corruption, inequality, and the struggles of Nepali youth. His debut track “Sadak Balak” (Street Child) in 2012 and his explosive performances in Raw Barz helped spark Nepal’s underground hip-hop scene.
A qualified structural engineer with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Kathmandu and a Master’s in Structural Engineering from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology in Bengaluru, India 🇮🇳, he later served as Mayor of Kathmandu (2022–2026), where he challenged the old political establishment with bold reforms.
After the historic 2025 Gen Z protests displaced traditional elites, Balen emerged as a symbol of a new Nepal - dynamic, youthful, and uncompromising against systemic failures. Today, at just 35, he leads the nation as its Prime Minister.
