Some people have asked me if it’s appropriate to compare the September 24th brutal killings in Leh last year with Chinese repression in Tibet!
I don’t blame them for they don’t know what happened that day in Leh as there was a total internet blackout for weeks.
I understand the sufferings of Tibetan friends & have always opposed Chinese repression, but if you had seen what people in Leh went through on that unfortunate day, you might not disagree.
Although Ladakh has always been happy & prosperous in India, the last six years have been different & last year was the worst...
In a small town of 20,000 people four killed brutally, one suicide, 80 injured, 75 arrested with charges like attempt to murder. And it was all done without any firing orders in what's believed to be a stage managed violence.
While in Delhi the parliament came to a halt demanding Amit Shah's resignation for use of pallet guns and lathi charge at Jantar Mantar... Shouldn't he resign for this?

The next election commissioner MUST be appointed by a panel of PM, Leader of Opposition and CJI. Only a person chosen by all three 'ayes' would be deserving of the post.

Demand Number 1

-Gyanesh Kumar must resign within 48 hours. Initiate criminal proceedings against him. Answer who gave him the orders to steal votes.

Demand Number 2

-Put on hold all upcoming elections. Freeze SIR immediately. Roll back the voters list to January 2025. Constitute an independent inquiry commission that commands public confidence to probe all SIR related actions. Supreme Court which has much to answer for legalising Gyanesh Kumar’s illegalities must immediately order seizing of SIR related files and records and submission to Court.

Demand Number 3

Repeal the 2023 law on ECI appointments immediately. Draft a new law with active participation of civil society, an independent selection process that inspires public confidence.

If the resignation does not come through in 48 hours, we will launch a nationwide agitation and will end it only when all demands are fulfilled.

Demand 1: Initiation of criminal proceedings against Gyanesh immediately, and an answer to the question: Who gave him the orders?

Demand 2: Put all upcoming elections on hold. Freeze the SIR and restore the January 2025 voter list. Set up an independent inquiry into the entire SIR decision-making process. We also demand that the Supreme Court immediately take custody of all SIR-related files to ensure no records are destroyed, altered or go missing.

Demand 3: Repeal the 2023 law on the appointment of the Election Commissioners of India and enact a new law that inspires public confidence, with the active participation of members of civil society.

We have been reliably informed by friends in the establishment that the Delhi Police is still busy trying to investigate us and somehow fit us into a cooked-up “anti-national” story. We are told this impossible feat of creative writing now requires deepfakes, AI, doctored chats and god knows what else, all of course at the taxpayer’s expense. Quite an expensive writers room I must say.

A gentle reminder to Delhi Police: the protesters have been granted permanent immunity in matters relating to the protests. And even otherwise, writing fiction is not part of the Police Manual. You are not going to get the Booker Prize or Nobel Prize for Literature. So please stop wasting everyone’s time and public money. Instead, go investigate the PG Mafia, Hospital Mafia, and Education Mafia in Delhi.

The Delhi Police may also wish to refresh its memory about what happened when certain BRUTAL directions issued by Amit Shah to the Home Secretary and the then Police Commissioner were flat out refused by the two to be implemented, as a consequence of which its Commissioner was removed barely three-four days before the Parliament March.

In any case, why go through all this jugaad? If Delhi Police has any questions about us, the protests, the Supreme Court judgment, please call all three of us, me, Dipke, Ashutosh anytime. We will happily come together to the new Police Commissioner’s office and subject ourselves to unlimited questioning. No deepfakes will be required then. Originals will come.
