I entered the Stanley Cup Final 19th with more transactions left than anyone in the Top 20.

Everyone's strategy was take the six best (affordable) players from each team.

If I was going to move up the standings, I needed to roll the dice.

Game 2, I went with 9 on VGK, kept 3 best for CAR. Hart, and a cheap random goalie. It paid off - everyone ahead of me had both goalies. So one goalie 'lost' points. I moved up to 16th.

Game 3, same thing. 9 of VGK. Paid off again, same reason. Moved up to 11th.

Game 4 - I switched to 9 CAR, kept 3 VGK (Marner, Howden, Theodore). Had Bussi and Freddie. Moved up to 9th.

Trying to decide if I should switch out Dobes and put in Andersen. Freeze the roster spot for 0 points. It removes potential point gain...but also removes potential point loss.

So today I ran the first true Beta test of the new @FantasyHockeyGk website platform.
Very slick, fast. Instant! It's a beautiful thing.

Long way to go, but the heartbeat is there. Need to tweak the look, adjust some labels and wording, navigations changes - that's the superficial stuff to come.

The meat of it
- Syncing with @Fantrax, @YahooFantasy, @espn;
- Proper calculations for the ranking

That's next steps.

What it means to you - Platinum subscribers will get first crack at the Beta version of the Draft Guru (live in-draft adjusted ranking to recommend your next picks). Hoping for August on this. The rest of you, hoping you can Beta test in September (very loose timeline here - a hope, not a promise).

Official rollout, no Beta, may not be until the fall. Next year, of course, it's full speed ahead.

But that's the update. The sluggish Geek days are numbered!

I have a full roster of players still in it, and still have 4 transactions. I'm in a good spot.

@ASinToronto I know - I made the same mistake a few days ago. Dropped three guys, wanted to reverse the goalie but it was two drops prior. Couldn't do it! Only one rollback allowed

A cool idea I had today for Dobbernomics playoff edition, tell me your thoughts:
I wonder if next year it would be fun to have a change for playoffs where half the teams get eliminated each round of real NHL rounds

So if 400 teams are in the playoffs, 200 make it to Round 2, 100 make it to Round 3, and 50 compete for the title

Issue was due to the OTT-CAR game - it was in the system without a scheduled time, which defaults to noon. The game didn't get rescheduled and our system locked up at noon.

We will fix the game today - a temp lock was put in for a fix, but when the lock was lifted the rosters set for tomorrow! Fixing this and I am seeing if they can move all changes anyone made this afternoon to TODAY's roster.

Upcoming at the Dobber Sports Network:
- The rankings @dobbernomics for the season will be back up in 24-48 hours, and archived seasons as well.
- We are working hard at getting a new @FantasyHockeyGk website up and running, featuring the Draft Guru. The guru we hope to have available for beta testing for Platinum subscribers by September
- We are working hard at making draft lists available, filtering for the stats you need, online (as opposed to downloading spreadsheets). Looking at hopefully beta testing this (for subscribers) in the summer. Hope to give you a better timeline in a couple of weeks.
