As I finish up residency, a bit of (statistical) reflection. Some time early in intern year I started tracking the number of patients I took care of. The final numbers:
Grady nightfloat admissions: 133
Grady inpatient: 430
Emory patients: 299
VA: didn’t track because CPRS
Question for #livertwitter Are any of you measuring handgrip strength in clinic as part of a malnutrition/sarcopenia/frailty assessment? If so, what device and cutoffs are you using and are you tracking longitudinally?
@IhabFathiSulima Silver stools indicative of ampullary malignancy. Biliary obstruction paired with intestinal bleeding from the mass produce acholic + melenic stools which appear silver.
@FearTheBrown You sure stirred up some stuff buddy. But I agree 100%. The things New Orleans does well are excellent, but there are huge gaps. Especially for vegetarians.
Congrats to 3rd-year fellow Eric Lorio on his recent publication in JPGN! Read about the risk factors for ERCP in pediatrics, including how complications differ between age groups. An interesting perspective in an emerging field!
