🚨 JUST IN:
NBI Director Melvin Matibag says the “kaldero” was not only OVERPRICED but also paid for TWICE.
⚠️ So yung ₱50 Million Kaldero na kalokohan na nga eh worth ₱100 Million Pesos pala?
Pasok na pasok sa PLUNDER twice over!
Double payment ka pa dyan ah.
😂
Next time a client will need a mug shot, I will demand the same treatment. This special treatment should be accorded to everybody.
This VIP treatment stinks!
So, this is the video that Chiz Escudero was AVOIDING TO BE SHOWN DURING THE TRIAL? Ang video na kung saan ay “ corner na corner” itong ABOGADONG WALANG ALAM sa Congress hearing over that certification ng military na ginamit ng DepEd as justification in its ₱15.54M confidential funds. Hindi naman ginastos o ibinigay sa AFP?
Since Chiz Escudero do not want to show and play this video of Atty. Poa, then let's keep sharing it. Chiz showing how bias he is on this case. Still a very good job Atty. Tolosa.
Alex Eala gave a great quote in press about why it’s so important for her to enjoy tennis and the life she’s living
“I want to ask you about something you said in an interview with Sky Sports. You were asked about how you see yourself 10 years from now. Some players would say ‘I hope to have 2, 3, 4 Grand Slams.’ But you said something different. You said ‘I just want to make sure I gave it my best, worked hard, & had fun.’
Alex: “I think it would be such a shame if I didn’t do my best to enjoy. There are so many people who are showing love for me and all the other players. You know, I’m playing on Armstrong, like… You know when you’re dreaming when you’re a little kid, you don’t know if you’re actually gonna do it. Of course you say ‘I can. I can. I can.’ But whether you actually do is a different thing. Now I’m actually here. It would be a big shame if I didn’t enjoy what I had.” 🥹

❌ Special Disbursing Officer Gina Acosta: “Wala ako alam.”
❌ OVP Assistant CoS Lemuel Ortonio: “Wala ako alam.”
❌ Dep Ed Chief of Staff Atty. Michael Poa: “Wala ako alam.”
⚠️ So sino may alam?
Si Sara Duterte lang?
Architect?
Mastermind?
Scammer?

The Philippines sometimes feels like a country where several centuries of world history accidentally ended up on the same street.
You can hear an Austronesian language, meet people with Spanish surnames, pass a Catholic church, order food with Chinese influences and then encounter American English before you've finished your coffee. For a Dutchman, this is particularly interesting because we were almost part of that historical mixture too.
Long before Europeans arrived, the islands already had sophisticated trading societies connected to China, Southeast Asia and the wider Asian world. Then Magellan arrived for Spain in 1521, and permanent Spanish colonisation followed later in the century. Mexico became an important part of the story too, because for more than two centuries the Manila galleons connected Manila with Acapulco, carrying American silver west and Asian goods east across the Pacific.
And then, inevitably, the Dutch appeared.
During the 17th century the VOC repeatedly fought the Spanish around the Philippines and tried to challenge their position there. We were already building an enormous Asian trading network from Batavia, and apparently couldn't see an important trade route without sailing over to investigate it. The Philippines, however, never became another Dutch possession. Spain held on.
Spanish rule lasted for more than three centuries, followed by American rule after 1898, Japanese occupation during WWII and finally independence in 1946.
What I like most about the Philippines is how all those different worlds eventually became part of one distinctly Filipino culture. Austronesian roots, centuries of Asian trade, Spanish and Mexican connections and later American influence all left something behind.
Yet the Philippines didn't become Spanish, Mexican, American or Dutch.
It absorbed pieces of all of them and remained unmistakably Filipino. That's what makes its history so interesting to me.
Key points:
1. DepEd did not transfer funds to AFP for YLS and IEC in 2023.
2. The certification from AFP to DepEd was for attendance, not for liquidation purposes.
3. Col Boransing, the person who issued the certification, did not know that it was used for liquidation.
Background context: Ang certification mula AFP ay ginamit para ma-justify ang paggamit ng P15.4 M confidential funds sa pagbayad ng rewards.
Opinion: Nabudol ang AFP sa pagbibigay ng certification sa DepEd.

@ABSCBNNews@punongmhistrado Imagine the cost of holding another election simply because the people elected a deranged man. Then, in the special election, they elected his mother.
That is an expensive lesson in democracy.
I hope this time, the electorate gets it right—and that things finally change.
