Meanwhile, a group of teenagers were knocking on doors in the neighborhood, pretending to need directions. If no one came to the door of a home, the young men would enter and burglarize it. When they arrived at Emily's house, she was in a back room, working on a puzzle. Michael Currie and his associates broke in and discovered the 12-year-old girl home alone, so they shot her in the mouth and the back of the head. Emily's grandfather found her lifeless body when he came to check in on her.

His name was Bert Atienza. He was 77 years old.

He and his wife Josephine had been married for FORTY-TWO YEARS and on Sunday, June 7th, they went to church.

Then they stopped at the Walmart to do their grocery shopping.

Josephine says a 17-year-old Black female employee came through with a heavy cart and nearly slammed into her.

No "excuse me." No apology. Nothing.

So Bert did what husbands do, he spoke up for his wife.

In his wife's words, he told that girl: "You almost hit my wife with your heavy cart, and you did not even say excuse me or apologize to her."

Josephine says the teenager then THREW A CAN at them as they walked away. It missed.

The elderly couple, not wanting any trouble, just kept shopping.

Minutes later, that girl's PARENTS showed up at the store, found the 77-year-old man and beat him to de*th.

In his wife's words:

"They crowded my husband, one of the adults hit him in the face. He fell down on the floor. I was terrified. I don't know what's going on."

The Medical Examiner's ruling: blunt head trauma.

Illinois mother Corie Walsh is accused of strangling her 2-year-old son Barrett and hanging him from a basement rafter. She told police he was the “devil” and “anti-Christ.” Her husband is standing by her despite prosecutors saying she also plotted to poison him.

Serve your country. Build something. Sacrifice. Endure. Die for it.

Then be told your descendants have no special claim to your story, no right to take pride in your sacrifice, no deeper connection because of what you gave.

Once you convince a people that inheritance, lineage, and posterity mean nothing, you’ve weakened one of the oldest reasons men sacrifice for a future they’ll never live to see.

That is fertile ground for any system that wants loyalty transferred from family and inheritance to the state.
