Another heartbreaking loss in the medical fraternity.
Dr. Sanu Sanal Barwar (32), a first-year Surgery PG resident at RIMS Ranchi, was found dead under suspicious circumstances.

The incident has left doctors and students in shock.

This comes just days after an MBBS student at RIMS reportedly died by suicide on May 16.

भारत सरकार के स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने पत्रांक एस-11014/3/91/एमई (पी), 05.06.1992 के जरिए ‘यूनिफॉर्म सेंट्रल रेजिडेंसी स्कीम‘ लागू की थी। इसके अनुसार जूनियर डॉक्टरों की प्रति सप्ताह 48 घंटे की ड्यूटी होगी। लगातार 12 घंटे से ज्यादा ड्यूटी नहीं होगी।‘

आज की तारीख में यही नियम लागू है। एम्स ने 06.10.2020 को अपने सभी केंद्रों को ऑफिस मेमोरेंडम भेजा। इसमें भारत सरकार के 1992 के नियम का हवाला देते हुए रेजिडेंट डॉक्टरों ���ी सप्ताह में 48 घंटे और एक बार में अधिकतम 12 घंटे ड्यूटी का नियम लागू करने का निर्देश दिया।

कर्नाटक सरकार ने 01.03.2024 को सभी सरकारी और प्राइवेट मेडिकल कॉलेजों के नाम पत्र जारी किया। इसमें भी भारत सरकार के 1992 के आदेश का हवाला देते हुए एक समय में 12 घंटे से अधिक लंबी ड्यूटी नहीं ��गाने का आदेश दिया था। इन नियमों की अवहेलना करने वालों पर कानूनी कार्रवाई हो।
