#iso in the backyard. Thursday night had the crispest clearest skies for #astronomy I've seen for over a decade! This let me capture my best ever image of #Jupiter โญ๐

@BoxnDiceExp@Mon4Kooyong That's exactly the point though. If the CDC is independent of both then they are a more trustworthy authority. As an ex-biomed researcher I know that finding sources and conflicts of interest must be declared too.
Insightful & informative Q&A inc. mental wellbeing in training, advancing drug development in microgravity & breadth of talented people needed to support our space industry.
Thanks to Tanya Hill @melbournemuseum and @cityofmelbourne for hosting.
Great to catch up & congratulate Katherine Bennell-Pegg last night. 17 yrs since in the @australianarmy Reserves together and nice to see Katherine's command presence and team skills when an audience member unfortunately experienced a medical emergency at the event.
Surprised & saddened to learn that cancer diagnostics or therapies in AU are being delayed because some medical radioisotopes are from Israel. I thought that most of our supply was either produced @ANSTO or in hospital cyclotrons?
@pgarrett@PeterDutton_MP We shouldn't be surprised though as it's a similar argument to the one they made about how an Indigenous Voice to Parliament would divide the nation.
@igordownunder@sjwill99 But why? I'm not against nuclear in principle. But if it's going to be more expensive I don't see the point. Perhaps a more compelling argument for me is if we need to actually have our own nuclear weapons program because we can't seem to rely on US for defence support
@DrShaneRRR@ExploreCosmos_ yes, but we should ask what observable it predicts or explains other than the dark matter/energy problem. I can only read the abstract and that is not evident or yet to be established.
@DrShaneRRR Orion nebula and omega centaurus are visually stunning too.
I got used to ferrying my steel tube Dobsonian in the car boit so my C9. 25 is a dream in comparison ๐. I really should be using much smaller focal length for astrophotography though. I think that's the key
@DrShaneRRR Surely keeping the Meade for visual astronomy of planets and if you're out at a dark site is worth it?
It's this the future for Telescopes in schools?
I like there is no eyepiece to reduce risk for solar astronomy too.
