Demoed DK2, Gear VR to hospital admins interested in VR for pain management. One demo from "Is it a gimmick?" to "How many can we afford?"

Almost all research establishing VR as effective in pain management pre-dates Oculus Rift. Curious if modern VR will be even more effective.

@Anticleric Ah, I wasn't clear-- meant 4k for the whole display, not the video. Figure 4K HMD would present 1080 video at full HD quality.

If a phone can run Oculus Cinema nicely at 1440, clearly a desktop could run it well at 4K. 4K@90fps is beyond HDMI 1.4, though. DP or HDMI2

Oculus Cinema on the #GearVR shows huge potential. Especially love the ability to pause and switch venues near-seamlessly.

As an aside, sudden frame rate crash due to thermal throttling in the #GearVR took me from "fine" to "terribly nauseous" in under 15 seconds
