I got a percocet. My script isn’t ready (thanks insurance). I cannot have another night like I did last night. Has anyone else experienced this or something similar & could give me some suggestions?
@ThanksCancer I have been experiencing severe pain in my lower abdomen & back, up my spine & in my shoulder blades. Internal pain. I can’t stand, sit, sleep, eat, etc. I went to ER today, got morphine while they ran tests. They don’t know why I am in pain. Continued…..
@JonClar58684712 Metaphors for cancer other than war/battle metaphors:
👉 Sitting in a dumpsterfire
👉 Being in a war, but you’re not a soldier — you’re a terrified cat on the battlefield who doesn’t understand a goddam thing happening
👉 Getting attacked by a bear
I have cancer. Big deal. It’s been 5 years. There are people who are a lot worse off than me doing way more than me. So F.U. to the people who won’t work with me or consider me for opportunities because of their own hang ups with it.
Planning for a future after cancer made it uncertain that you’d *even* have a future is a weird limbo. 🤍 sending love to my cancer friends who feel this too.
Many times what we express on the outside doesn’t match up to what we are screaming on the inside. If all you did today was survive - that’s enough. You are enough. 🫂🤍
@TheCancerSutra It should be made accessible and available to patients/survivors at any stage if they want it or need it but unfortunately (most) cancer centers don’t talk about it or offer it.
A big part of Cancer Mental Health Awareness Month is talking about our experiences as patients.
Talking about cancer can also be frustrating when dealing with well-intended people who say generic things.
Let’s change that this month.

@TheCancerSutra As a mental health therapist and Stage IV cancer patient - I myself struggle with mental health even though I have “all of the tools”. That is why I focus on helping other patients, survivors and caregivers.
