@iCCaRE4BlackMen Seeing Prof Salako in this dance video goes a long way to show the strength of team work and commitment to excellence in OAUTHC Ile-Ife. They deserve this grant to help them do more
It was Dr. Tayo Ojo, a neurosurgeon here in Nigeria that did the surgery. So many people begged me to leave the country and get the surgery done but something kept me back here because I still had trust in us.
We just need more investment in our health sector.
Throughout December of 2022, I was fighting for my life. I went blind in one eye on the 3rd of Dec. 2022 & on the 5th, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Today I stand here before you to share my story. It has been a long road to recovery but each day is better than the last.
@FouRTune07@aproko_doctor I sincerely thank you as well as patients& relatives who celebrate their health care providers despite the challenges we face practising in Nigeria. Your kind words will definitely boost our morale as we continue to give our best to Nigerians. I wish Dr Chinonso total healing.
@aproko_doctor I remembered Dr. Ogundele of OOUTH Sagamu that carried out first Tracheoesophagyl fistula operation on my child n was successful. We have so many competent Doctors but our govt be our problem.
@kkidia Ain't we lucky in Nigeria. Most big hospitals have just one poorly equiped, understaffed & grossly inadequate ICU serving medical, surgical, adult, pediatric, neonatal, maternal... patients. No confusion of terms.
But seriously, we need help!

Our research work titled "Early Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on paediatric surgical practice in Nigeria: a national survey of paediatric surgeons" has now been published by BMJ paediatrics open.
Children are not little adults. They are unique individuals with peculiar physiology. In caring for their health needs, time is of the essence. This fact has some bearing on their care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
My team and I set out in the early days of the pandemic to study
@fisayosoyombo I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 too. The surgery and chemo nearly killed me as much as the cancer did. I cannot comprehend him making those movies while going through that. That is power and strength you will never comprehend. I do. Wow!
