You need boredom. A lot of it. Start by going on walks without music. No stimulation. No distractions of any kind. If you learn to sit with your own thoughts, for long enough, in time they will start serving you. You'll start having ideas once again. At its peak, Sun Microsystems was valued at 205B (394B if inflation adjusted). Sold software in enterprise servers. Got disrupted by Linux, x86, and commodity hardware. Ended up selling to Oracle for 7.4B, losing 96% of its value.

Open source models running on local hardware can have a similar impact given what’s going on.

Many people are asking how did Kimi K3 catch up so fast to Western models? Simply, a frontier model really only requires compute, data and people. There is no magic secret.

A few answers to this question

1. Kimi with help from the Chinese government has thousands if not tens of thousands of experts (lawyers, scientists, doctors, programmers.. etc.) making RL env data every day. A frontier model is RLed on “tasks”. Each one of these tasks needs to be created by either a human or an LLM. Claude did not wake up one day knowing how to use say the Github CLI. He learned how to use the Github CLI in an RL env. 

Meta is pursuing this exact same strategy with its Applied AI org and IMO it appears to be working.

2. I have said this before regarding GLM 5.2 - Kimi obviously distilled from GPT 5.5 and Claude Opus. This only eliminated their cold start problem in RL, meaning they skipped say some X number of months in cold start RL. The mass number of RL envs created by their experts is still the most crucial part here, and you cannot attribute Kimi’s success to distillation. Distillation only saved them some time.

3. Agentic coding and frontier LLMs significantly accelerated their research. My hunch is they use proxies to access Claude API and GPT API for their own model development. Claude most likely wrote all their training code.

This release leads to some very interesting questions. What happens now in a world in which an almost Fable class model is open sourced and free on July 27th? My view is intelligence / software will become very soon close to free. Chip makers and inference providers are big winners from Kimi’s success.

I've been thinking about this almost every day.

What would it actually take to ensure every single child in the South East is in school?

I don't mean reducing the number of out-of-school children.

I mean ZERO.

I'm setting myself a target:

Zero out-of-school children in the South East within the next 24 months.

And within 4 years, I want us to drive illiteracy as close to zero as possible.

I know it sounds ambitious.

There are children out of school because of poverty. Some because of culture. Some because of religion. Some because they have to work. Others because there are barriers we've not even identified yet.

But I genuinely believe this is a problem we can solve if we stop treating it as someone else's responsibility.

So I'm asking for your help.

If you had to achieve this, what would you do?

I want practical ideas. Bold ideas. Crazy ideas. Lessons from other countries. Community-based solutions. Technology. Policy. Anything.

I'll read every suggestion.

If we can solve this in the South East, we'll create a blueprint that the rest of Nigeria and maybe even Africa can learn from.

Apparently, someone dmed me about having omotara nudes. There are other information he shared but I won't talk about it until i gather enough evidence to back my claim.

Only God knows what she was into in her past for another man to have her nudes.

If alabi married his husband a virgin, another man won't be having her nudes.

Since omotara and alabi think they can try to take my account illegally by sending bots, they should just wait until I gather every information and proof required and watchout for my next action.

I need your honest opinion on this.

I think it's time we introduce the South East STEM Olympiad alongside the South East Maths Olympiad. One registration covers both competitions.

Our children have significant gaps in science, and we need to fix that as soon as possible.

I'm thinking we should split the prize money between Mathematics and Science.

We can hold both competitions on the same day but at different times.

I've been studying several world-class science curricula that are built on higher-order thinking and real-world application. We can develop our own curriculum specifically for the competition and share it with schools across the South East so they can prepare their students effectively.

If you sell used cars, be careful - the next few years will be rough for you, and you may not have a business by the time the wave that is coming is done:

The reason is because the Chinese have set their eyes on Africa, and when they move - it is usually aggresive price cut that favors volume over margins.

Which means they will sell better and more recent cars at a cheaper price and at first you will laugh at them; but they will win.

It is how people laughed at Opay at first (a bank with no branch) but now Opay is used by almost everyone.

...but car is not like the banking sector, a cheaper car & better car will FORCE everyone else out.

Wait till they are done countering all the lies about parts and engine not being strong; once they enter a market - they find the biggest objections and they get to work towards countering it. That work has started. Goodluck everyone.
