At one time websites did disappear.
The we did something strange - only creating giant corporate websites. Your website is a piece of one of those.
Thus things no longer go away. Maybe your content does, but Wikipedia, Reddit, Twitter etc will live forever.

My coworker and I were talking today about how a quick lunch run feels like a sit-down restaurant bill now.
I pulled up a digital McDonald's receipt on my phone from late 2020.
Two standard Big Mac meals.
15.98 total.
I opened the app and added the exact same two meals to my cart today.
31.48 before tax.
Same food. Same drive-thru. Same paper bag.
15.50 more.
A 97 percent price increase in just a few years.
They keep telling us that wages grew to match the modern economy.
My paycheck definitely did not grow by 97 percent.
They are charging luxury dine-in prices for processed food thrown together in a drive-thru, while the executives record billions in profit and wonder why the working class is finally stopping to eat at home.

(1 of 2) As many of you know, I work in a gun store. Yesterday, a customer was in the store buying a couple of the new 15 round Glock mags for a 43X. He had a small child with him that is about 5-6 years old.
After making his purchase, he walked over to the gun cases and asked to see a Sig P365. The counter guy, a young guy with no kids, hands him the gun.
At this time, I'm sitting at my desk in the back of the store about 30 feet away but with a clear view of them. There are no other customers in the store.
I hear the dad telling his son to point the gun at the floor and I look out and see him handing the pistol to this little kid. I look at the employee and tell him "no" and I signal with my hand to stop. I tell him the child is too young to do that in a gun store. If he wants to hand him guns at home, that is totally fine but we can't do that in the store.
The customer hands the gun back to the employee and leaves.
The whole interaction is captured on the surveillance video, with audio.
Twenty minutes later he leaves this review on Google.
I'm the low IQ person because I told him not to hand a pistol to a very young kid in a gun store... I'm the low IQ part of this scenario... Right.
After Rob, the owner, responds to the review, dude tracks down Rob's personal account on IG and starts sending him messages about how the last time he was in the store, the employees let his kid hold a gun. Okay, the employee who let you do that screwed up last time.
Dude got butt hurt because I told him, in front of no one else, not to do that so he leaves a smart ass, shitty review, gets called out for it, then defends his "review" in private messages. Ironically, he made a big deal about a spelling error he thought was in the response to his review (but is not), while making multiple grammatical and spelling errors of his own in the messages he sent.
If you ever wondered why I wear a shirt that says "I hate people" this is but one example.
I should probably mention the other thing leftists do - deliberately misunderstand context, or simply pretend another context is present.

Hypothesis:
1. The dismissal of the Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko was a cover to quietly (re)move Fedorov, as it forced the removal of all ministers. This was instigated by Syrski and others in the military
2. The PM would be moved to the important post of US Ambassador, not particularly controversial, just a little odd in timing
3. Fedorov would move to be a direct Presidential advisor, this could even be marketed as a promotion
Both Svyrydenko and Fedorov have refused, and Fedorov is now spilling the beans. A monumental political fuck up by Zelenskyy and his advisors.

I went through Zelensky's twitter, a masterclass in communication about the war, and found nothing explaining Federov's dismissal. This gives legs to the accusations.
It has to be said that with this reckless escapade (one that was entirely unnecessary and seemingly pulled out of thin air) Zelensky has done serious, long-term damage to the trust of the many people who, even in the fifth year of the war, still generally supported him as the country’s wartime leader, acknowledged his undeniable successes for Ukraine on the international stage, and believed that, on balance, what he had done since February 24, 2022 had brought more benefit than harm to a country fighting for its survival.
Now everything has shifted to a completely different level. The scales have tipped in the negative direction, and after this, it will be extraordinarily difficult for him to restore the positive expectations and goodwill he once enjoyed.
This is undoubtedly one of the worst mistakes of his life and a moment when he revealed his darkest side.
Or perhaps this opinion, which is the dominant one I see. Are Ukrainians fed up with Zelensky because of mistakes ?

if you take a position like that you have to work with everyone above you and below you. you cant come in and say "i want the entire top of the army gone". its not something that you can do and survive. no matter what a wounder kid you are.
you have to follow orders from the president. and you have to work with the professional soldiers on the ground. he did neither. president Zelensky ordered the generals and fedorov to work together, fedorov refused to put things aside from the looks of things and work with the generals. and from reports it was not 1 general, it was nearly all of them.

These AI-generated stories are cropping up on here a lot. You can usually tell because of the short, clipped, clever sentences and the high level of detail.
I would never recline my seat because I'm making the person behind me super uncomfortable. So I get stuck with a seat in my face and being super uncomfortable.
I deleted my earlier, more forceful take, but maybe I’ll just reframe it this way: what else in public life has the same characteristics as seat reclining where the benefit to you for reclining is very small but the downside to the person behind you is very large?

If you're a U.S. citizen and you're living abroad, you have to file taxes on your income. Doesn't matter where it's from. And if you want exclusions or credits, you still have to file. (This is the #1 reason why departing Americans renounce their citizenship.)
The IRS should be mining foreign countries looking for "anchor babies" and other citizens who aren't filing. Instead of obsessing about whether your grandma reported her Etsy knitting earnings, they should be focused on this.
