A documentary is the best possible outlet for baseball legend Dock Ellis’s life story, and 'No No: A Dockumentary' is the best possible documentary for the occasion. Now streaming on Amazon Prime and for free at Kanopy, Tubi, and Vudu. Our review: https://t.co/eocWM0Rady
For anyone who'd like to watch the 71 all-star game on its 49th anniversary, here it is. 21 players later made the Hall of Fame, and several coaches & managers as well. Plus the first (and to-date only) time two black pitchers started the game - Dock Ellis & Vida Blue
Dock Ellis pitching for the @Mets in 1979 while wearing his @Pirates cleats. The interesting thing about this is it had been 4 years since he last pitched for Pittsburgh. He would be sold to the #Pirates soon after, before retiring at the end of the season.

49 yrs ago today, the first time “two brothers” - Dock Ellis & Vida Blue - faced off as starters in the 1971 #MLB All-Star Game. Featuring Dave Cash, Big Daddy Hoffman, @Alscoop16 @BigHairPlasGras & Vida Blue himself! https://t.co/ANP0qZUVth
"The immensity of Ellis’ psychedelic feat has come to overshadow both the on-field accomplishments and social conscience that marked his 12-year major-league career... it was a drive to do good that was a constant in his life after retirement" https://t.co/8ituXaZVC5
@Justine_Coyne@kate_blackley Love that Dock has been such an inspiration for this. “It’s mostly weirdos, nerds, oddballs, people that played sports when they were young... but may have quit because they got ostracized or yelled at by people who made them feel small”
Being welcomed by the Dock Ellis League this season has been a true gift. This article by @kate_blackley is great and includes a lot of history on Dock himself if you're only familiar with the famous no-hitter: https://t.co/sHrp5QjRBN
