When 8-year-old Bryson Kliemann heard that his puppy might die, he quietly made a decision.

His four-month-old dog, Bruce, had been diagnosed with parvovirus, a potentially deadly disease. The treatment would cost around $700, and Bryson overheard his family worrying about how they could afford it.

So he went to his room and looked at something he had spent years collecting.

His Pokémon cards.

Bryson carried his collection outside, made a cardboard sign that read “Pokémon 4 Sale,” and sat by the roadside.

One card at a time, he began selling the collection he loved to save the dog he loved even more.

Within two days, he had raised around $400.

Then strangers heard his story.

Some bought cards. Some donated money without taking anything. Others sent Pokémon cards to rebuild the collection Bryson had been willing to lose.

The support eventually grew to more than $15,000.

Bruce received treatment and came home recovering. Bryson's family then used extra donations to help other families struggling with veterinary bills.

An 8-year-old thought he was simply selling Pokémon cards to save his puppy.

JK Rowling just offered to pay for her day in court.

The girl, the only female in the unit, was placed at St Mary's Kenmure in Glasgow alongside 11 boys aged 15-17, all older teenage offenders. She had committed no crime.

When she asked to move to an empty houseblock, the answer was "no."

The case was documented by the Council of Europe's committee for the prevention of torture after an inspection last year.

Rowling took to X: "Who does it hurt if we make every space mixed-sex? This is who it hurts: the most vulnerable, those without power and influence, the invisible people politicians don't bother to consider when chasing likes and photo ops."

She then posted a link to her women's fund and offered to cover legal costs for the girl or anyone acting on her behalf.

These are just some puppies on Skid Row. The city is not enforcing spay and neuter on Skid Row. Instead the city is investing millions and millions of dollars of YOUR money to shield the abusers and let the anjmal crisis continue to explode.

Ok this is crazy. The “owner” of this dog on Skid Row is severely addicted to meth. He would call people saying there are things all over this dog. There wasn’t. A month ago, this dog was happy and loving. This is the dog 1 month later living on Skid Row. The meth addict is nowhere to be found.

I ended the day knowing that the only way to get something done is not leaning on a broken system.

I ended the day knowing the only way to beat criminals is to play their own game.

LA City will do ANYTHING but enforce laws. They will pour billions into problems instead of addressing the actual root of the issue. They will always side with criminals and this is the result.
