God never said, “You’re going to understand everything. I’m going to show you what I’m doing. It’s all going to make sense.” He said, “My ways are not your ways.” He said, “Walk by faith and not by sight.”
Some may consider this worldwide health crisis a lose, lose situation for schools and education. Not so! We must see the light despite the darkness. CHANGE CHAMPIONS claim this to be a WIN, WIN for our children. We must speak LIFE!
Pressure can burst pipes or produce diamonds. We will #ReturnStronger. However, pressure will not push me to open schools if they are unsafe. The F in our S.A.F.E. plan stands for FLEXIBILITY. We will continue to do what’s best for students and staff.
We’re offering options for virtual or in-school learning to best serve our families. The period to choose begins tomorrow at 10AM, and we will also be releasing our full Re-Entry Plan so parents have the information they need to decide and return STRONGER.
As the period to choose learning options begins, we’re sharing our full Re-Entry Plan so parents can make an INFORMED decision. With the health and safety of our families, educators, and staff as our top priority, we will RETURN STRONGER - S.A.F.E. Plan https://t.co/44c57PZsUn.
Life is full of disappointments, delays, people that do wrong. You’re never going to stop these things from happening; the key is how you handle them. The scripture says, “No man can take your joy.” You control your joy. Nothing can take it from you.
Proud of @iam_michai and all of the @SCSK12Unified students and graduates on leading a powerful student based discussion on We Matter. Shoutout to the district and Bridges for giving our students this safe space.

Good morning! If you want to be happy, you have to be happy on purpose. When you wake up you can't just wait to see what kind of day you'll have. You have to decide what kind of day you will have. Get up today and say, it is going to be a great day. Rev. Al
I'm proud to join my good friend @UofMemphisPres in establishing the #GeorgeFloyd Memorial Scholarship. We’re partnering in the fight against systemic racism and for the empowerment of young men of color in Memphis and Shelby County. #ICantBreathe#OurBoysNeedUs
The ‘Achievement Gap’ is often linked to race, painting a picture of Black student deficits. Would 'Opportunity Gap’ or another descriptor be better at communicating differences in test scores, that's a test-score gap, not an achievement gap? A small point that matters.
Great leaders demonstrate what’s possible. They extract greatness from others by:
• Modeling the Way
• Inspiring a Shared Vision
• Challenging the Process
• Enabling others to Act
• Encouraging the Heart
Congrats again to our principal finalists and winner, Dr. V. Hunter!
