the exact sequence for a dream 100 cold dm — order matters more than most people think.
- follow first, always. an unfollowed cold dm reads as spam before they’ve even opened it.
- wait a day or two before messaging. an instant dm right after following looks automated, even when it isn’t.
-engage once before you dm — a genuine comment on something recent. now your name looks familiar when the dm lands.
- lead the dm with free work already done, not a pitch. “saw [specific thing], put together a quick breakdown for you, no strings.”
- if no reply in 3-4 days, follow up once with new value, never a bump. “hey, following up — figured i’d also mention [new specific thing].”
- after one follow-up, let it go. chasing past that reads as pressure, not interest.
follow → wait → engage → free work → one follow-up → done.
skip a step and the whole sequence reads colder than it should.
one underrated thing about having a smaller community on skool right now:
every question gets a real answer.
not a copy-paste. not a generic reply buried in a thread.
just built a training for a student that posted a set of questions with a
personal video back walking through the exact situation.
that goes away once this scales. right now it’s just you and an actual answer.
the length of your loom is quietly killing your reply rate.
- under 90 sec = cold outreach
- 90 sec-3 min = once they’ve replied
- 3-5 min = only if they asked for more
most people send the wrong length at the wrong stage.

Mind if I share a quick video explaining how [SYSTEM WORKS]
70% of your looms probably aren’t getting watched past the first 10 seconds. here’s what actually fixes that, and it’s not the content.
- the thumbnail is doing more work than you think — a still frame of you mid-sentence with a weird expression gets skipped, a still frame of you looking directly at camera gets clicked
- the title in your message matters more than the video itself — “quick breakdown for you” beats “loom video” every time, be specific about what’s inside
- send it with context, never just a raw link — “made this in 5 min after seeing [specific thing]” tells them why to care before they click
- check your loom analytics — if people are dropping at the same timestamp every time, that’s not bad luck, that’s a scripting problem you can actually fix
- if they didn’t watch it, don’t resend the same loom — a resend with zero new value looks like you’re chasing, not helping
most people obsess over what to say in the loom. the click to open it matters just as much.
