@DuncanBirm If you look at the history of Director Academy noms, comedy is badly underrepresented. Most directors think of themselves as 'important,' and many also mistakenly believe they could do comedy if they wanted, thereby undervaluing the genre.

@burbankcinema Can't recall how many takes we did. My guess would be around 10, but I don't know for sure. Biggest issue was making sure performances clicked in the single take. Of course, both actors (each underrated for much of their careers) are superb.

@burbankcinema The building, btw, was a working office building, and we couldn't precisely time the opening of the elevator doors. It was not a record company but it was the Warner Chappell Music office building on Santa Monica Blvd in West LA.
