There was this kid, Max Loughan who appeared online about a decade ago like some kind of prodigy from another timeline. You can still find those family videos of a boy explaining the nature of energy like he’d remembered it from before he was born. He said everything in the universe was made of energy, that it couldn’t be created or destroyed, only transformed and that he’d figured out how to tap into it. Actually draw from the endless sea that already surrounds us. He spoke about consciousness, electricity, and the universe like they were all part of the same equation, one that he somehow "understood".

He called his creation the "Energy Horizon Gatherer", a device he claimed could harvest ambient electromagnetic energy from the air itself. It was brutally crude but functional: copper coils, magnets, and a few salvaged parts from an old coffee tin. When he connected it, the LEDs lit up. No battery, no plug. Just a flicker of light drawn from the invisible ocean of energy we live in. The internet called it BS, a lucky circuit, a science fair fantasy per se. But he playing with ideas about energy as consciousness, field as mind, and creation as a feedback loop.

Max said something most would consider straight up nutter. He said that CERN had changed everything, that we might’ve slipped into another version of reality. Most just called him crazy, but he had that look in his eyes, that faraway certainty of someone who’s seen too much. Maybe he meant that literally. Maybe he was pointing at something hidden in plain sight; that when we manipulate the fundamental fabric of energy, we manipulate the structure of reality itself. His way of saying: “we’re not just observers, we’re participants.”

Then he disappeared for a while. The media moved on, but he didn’t vanish. He grew up. He filed a patent. He founded Loughan Labs. Maybe someone told him to go quiet, to take it underground, or to refine what he found. Maybe that's what he's been doing. Potentially he’s studying what the rest of us only speculate about...the bridge between matter, mind, and energy.

I can’t shake that goose bump feeling that Max Loughan was onto something. Every few generations, someone touches the current that runs beneath creation, and the system clamps down before the light spreads. But the current never dies. It finds another vessel, another curious soul willing to ask the forbidden question: "what if it’s real?" I think some of it is.
