Another analysis showing ventral curvature responds to CCH/Xiaflex therapy
However authors found that these patients had de-novo ED, not seen in previous studies but important area of future study #SMSNA24
Active Surveillance for low-grade prostate cancer aims to avoid or delay definitive treatment side effects like erectile dysfunction. But do repeated biopsies cause the very issues we're trying to prevent?
Join me at @SMSNA_ORG and let’s discuss ways to optimize patient care.
Should PD5i be prescribed to improve penile curvature in PD patients as monotherapy or in conjunction with CCh?
Do they improve curvature or plaque size, or is their benefit limited to ED?
Join me at the anual @SMSNA_ORG meeting!

📣Testosterone and Prostate Cancer Growth! New Study answers more questions about importance of normal T levels in Men!
“When androgen levels are low, the androgen receptor is encouraged to “go solo” in the cell. In doing so, it activates the pathways that cause cancer cells to grow and spread. However, as androgens rise, the androgen receptors are forced to “hang out as a couple,” creating a form of the receptor that halts tumor growth.
“Nature has designed a system where low doses of hormones stimulate cancer cell proliferation and high doses cause differentiation and suppress growth, enabling the same hormone to perform diverse functions,” McDonnell said.

“Doc, can you make it bigger?”
It’s the daily joke/question I get in my office from my patients. While there have been approaches in the past to improve size and girth, most have been experimental and not safe. Over the last few years however penile cosmetics has continued to gain popularity and with it newer, better, and safer techniques to enhance penile girth. There is no doubt that the space will continue to grow (pun absolutely intended)
Considered taboo by many urologists for a long time, many sexual medicine doctors, including myself, have started understanding the value penile enhancement can have to our patients. If women feel empowered and can improve their confidence with plastic surgery of their breasts or butts, why can’t men find similar benefits in girth enhancement?
The key for men interested is to find a high volume specialist, ideally a urologist, and make sure you understand the risks and benefits before proceeding. Know before you go, and understand that most of this stuff is still in its infancy with limited data.
Thanks to The Cut for interviewing me about the topic. Link to the full article below.
