In response to the outrageous incident, Junior Residents and Interns of GMC Chandrapur have declared a strike today including emergency to strongly condemn this pattern of violence & demand security & welfare of healthcare workers.

On 1/2/23, the patient's relatives entered casualty and assaulted a Junior Resident while simultaneously threatening any other doctor that came to the JR's rescue. Similar cases of violence and assault have been reported in increasing frequency all over the country.

The patient, who was chronically ill, was discharged after his prognosis was explained to his relatives. However, the patient passed away 14 days back while still at home.

1. Yearly fundus examination if you are a high myope, diabetic or hypertensive.
2. Yearly eye exam after 40y.
