United Nations’ Committee Against Torture has made observations in their report issued today that the Committee is particularly concerned about the situation of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, whose arbitrary detention was confirmed by the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, and Bushra Bibi, especially with regard to their access to medical care.
We demand military-led Govt of Pakistan to immediately grant family and personal doctors access to former PM Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

BREAKING: After FJP presented cases of civilians tried in military courts to the UN Committee Against Torture, the UN committee concludes that Pakistan should review the Army Act of 1952, bar military courts from trying civilians, and prosecute military personnel for torture.
During its 84th Session, the United Nations Committee Against Torture initiated a formal review of Pakistan’s human rights compliance, specifically scrutinizing the detention of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Thank you to the UN Committee Against Torture for raising concerns regarding solitary confinement in the case of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. We respectfully hope the Committee’s final recommendations will call for the immediate end of solitary confinement, urgent access to personal doctors and independent hospital care, full access to personal lawyers and family, and the immediate release of Imran Khan.
The same protections and urgent relief should apply to his wife Bushra Bibi, who has also suffered vision loss in one eye following medical neglect during solitary confinement.
Imran Khan has already been found arbitrarily detained by the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, which called for his immediate release and compensation. Amnesty International has also called for his release. He has already lost 85% of vision in one eye amid prolonged denial of independent medical care.
Prolonged solitary confinement, denial of independent medical care, blocked access to lawyers and family, and deterioration of his eyesight engages obligations under the Convention Against Torture, ICCPR, and the Mandela Rules. UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Alice Jill Edwards has also publicly noted concerns after writing to the Government of Pakistan without reply.
UN recommendations can save lives.

Horrific. The rightful Prime Minister & First Lady of Pakistan are losing organs due to torturous solitary confinement and medical neglect. BOTH suffering vision loss. No prisoner should be left to die bit by bit, let alone arbitrary INNOCENT ones @FCDOGovUK@EU_Commission

Imran Khan's wife is also now going blind, being held in solitary confinement by the Military Regime in Pakistan.
URGENT INTERNATIONAL INTERVENTION IS REQUIRED.
"- A neutral international medical commission to conduct a full toxicology screen and ocular exam to rule out poisoning and chemical suppression.
- Immediate cessation of the 22+ hour solitary confinement that is physically destroying their sensory health.
- Transfer both individuals to a specialized facility with access to their personal physicians to ensure transparent and adequate treatment."

Extremely concerning and being reported to the UN Committee Against Torture specifically for the Pakistan review in April by the NGO Pakistan World Alliance, and members of Doctors for Imran Khan.
