@worthitorwoke I think it’s because it came out between Toy Story and Toy Story 2, and it was overshadowed by Antz. It also doesn’t have the same mass appeal for kids and adults that Toy Story has.
@beany_23 Same here. I saw Toy Story when I was 14. I’m 44 now, and I just took my 6 year old and 3 year old sons. Since I was so late to have my own kids, I took all my nephews to see Toy Story 2-4. It’s truly a franchise that spans generations.
@isaimerev@AndreSegers You might have convinced me to give it a rewatch. I’ve been wrong about movies before, and sometimes a movie just hit different depending on when I watch it.
@isaimerev@AndreSegers I may have to go back and re-assess Toy Story 3. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that one, and I’ve been reading a ton of love for it today. I remember liking the ending and overall message, but not really caring for the setting or villain.
@JoshEberley Soul at the top. Lol. The movie that really surprised me the most was Onward. The movie looked like trash to me, from the trailers, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. As somebody who just lost their Mom, at the time of viewing it, the ending mace me cry too. It should be a bit higher
@Brodeyy_51 Like others have already said, it’s an homage to 50s sci-fi B movies. Probably a miscalculation on Spielberg’s part, because people don’t expect that aesthetic from an Indy film. That being said, I enjoyed Crystal Skull far more than Dial of Destiny.
@harlanwheelerr Scream 7 was so bad that I actually think the new I Know What You Did Last Summer was a better movie. I like Toy Story 5 though. It’s middle of the pack in terms of the series as a whole.
@KeyTryer My six year old says the movie is saying it's OK to play with toys and iPads, and you don't have to do just one or the other...and I think the movie's messaging is really that simplistic. It's preaching that technology is fine, in moderation.
