Pakistan ranks among the world’s most dysfunctional states. If it possessed Iran’s oil wealth instead of relying on exports and foreign aid, it would likely surpass even the Islamic Republic in anti-Americanism. Here’s why:

1) Foundational extremism: Pakistan was the first modern "Islamic Republic," forged in 1947 through genocidal violence against Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians. Partition massacres claimed hundreds of thousands to over a million lives as Muslims sought an ethnically "cleansed" homeland (Pakistan literally means "land of the clean" AKA pure Muslim) This precedent directly inspired Iran’s Islamic revolutionaries.

2) Tribal and Islamist society: Despite government efforts to project modernity, Pakistan’s population remains deeply tribal, Islamist, and culturally backward. Corruption is endemic, and social progress lags far behind global norms.

3) Anti-American alignment and terrorism: Pakistani citizens and institutions have long harbored terrorists. Elements of its military and intelligence services actively facilitated attacks on the US, while the country functions as a de facto CCP proxy aligned against American interests. Waves of Pakistani migration to the West (including IRGC-aligned Shia networks) pose a growing security threat. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), the Pakistani mastermind of the 1993 WTC bombing and 9/11 attacks, is a good example. After 9/11, Pakistani ISI and the IRGC Quds Force together sheltered bin Laden and other al-Qaeda leaders, while the IRGC used Pakistani territory to direct Taliban operations against U.S. forces.

Bottom line, Pakistan’s tribal, corrupt, and backward society survives only under iron-fisted military rule. That control is fraying. The US and its allies must develop urgent contingency plans to remove its nuclear arsenal if the state begin to collapse.

Ulraine's Kharkiv National Medical University has announced the death of 23-year-old Nigerian student Nnani Adaobi Marian, who succumbed to injuries sustained during a Russian attack on Ukraine.

After being critically wounded, Marian was treated first in Kharkiv and later transferred to Germany, where doctors fought to save her life. Despite their efforts, she passed away on July 5.

Marian began studying medicine at the university in 2020 and was remembered as a dedicated, talented and compassionate student. She participated in international academic programs, including internships at the University of Cambridge in 2024 and Turkey's Beruni University in 2025, where she expanded her medical knowledge and research experience.

Her death is another reminder that Russia's war continues to claim the lives of civilians from around the world who came to Ukraine to study, work and build their futures. Kharkiv National Medical University extended its condolences to her family, friends and classmates, honoring her memory as an integral part of the university community.
