@ethandrag0n I’m always shocked by the stories, is Milwaukee some kind of dystopian hell hole? literally never had a bad movie theater experience in Maine
@mtracey He should have watched Enemy at the Gates where the main communist guy finally loses his beliefs when he realizes even under communism he can’t get laid because Jude Law is just too awesome.
@BigRedSulk Had some pretty big flaws, didn’t establish bad guys as a threat, their weakness is back doors apparently. didn’t establish stakes, didn’t have a payoff. was semi interested when Jane was like we shouldn’t release this but they brush that off pretty quick
@ThatJunkman Id put it on my bottom 10, it’s boring, tensionless, doesn’t make sense, doesn’t deliver on any aspect of its premise and has no payoffs. If it was worse I would have enjoyed it more. Theres a horseshoe affect for bad movies and it lands in the worst spot.
@KIR_bigg50 I don’t even agree with the premise we learned in Maine in an all white drivers ed class what to do when you’re pulled over. And it’s exactly turn off car, get your license, registration and insurance and put your hands on the wheel if you need to find something tell them.
@ParzivalsEgg@BoonaETH@ericbrownzzz Did you catch the train symbolism? You know it was moving from east to west clearly symbolizing the setting of the sun and Spielbergs self realization that his time is coming to end, a clear reference to Leo Tolstoys 1886 classic The Death of Ivan ilyich
@ParzivalsEgg@BoonaETH@ericbrownzzz lol wow next you’ll be telling me about the Bible code, and how I’d take every 4 word in the dialog and string it other it has a hidden message
@ParzivalsEgg@BoonaETH@ericbrownzzz Without being told the answer? The guy literally tells them empathy is the answer. But the actually answer to stop WWIII seemed to be holy shit look it’s aliens lol.
@ParzivalsEgg@BoonaETH@ericbrownzzz Seems like you’re just formulating your own movie.
like the plan in the movie to stop the end of the world (which they didn’t really show was happening) was Disclosure day and saying holy shit there are aliens look how small our problems see now. Basically a watchmen solution.
@RaunaqMangottil It’s the opposite of popcorn move there’s no fun, no intriguing developments. No tension, No plot
and no payoff. It all makes 0 sense by the end and it cuts to black right before it could of got interesting.
@ashen_one I can find some enjoyment in almost any movie on some level, I rarely go below 2 stars. This was a 1 for me rarely hate a movie this much there’s just nothing there, completely squandering the premise they had was actually kind of impressive
@alexpaps1 Reductive and infantile interpretation of the worlds problems. That’s what gonna stop resource based wars. And outside of this one guy just explicitly stating the theme It doesn’t even tackle the concept at all lol
