@plgbm@jackbingham2323@GreyhoundBoard@SALACRES The line from GBGB is often that they can’t do things but they need to remember they are a regular so they can force any stakeholder to do what they want through regulation.
@plgbm@jackbingham2323@GreyhoundBoard@SALACRES Radical change is needed but the people in the positions to do it aren’t interested.
The sport is being bled dry by PGR/ARC and their insistence on putting on high volumes of low quality product is not what anybody wants, bookmakers included.
@95_reynolds@emma64979643 Bang on the money. A name cuts through much better than a number.
It can’t ever happen though, it’s a major security concern for owners and trainers during what’s already a distressing time.
@ChtyCommission
I have a concern regarding @AnimalAid creating and promoting a website that claims over 1,000 named greyhounds in the UK are “missing” despite there being multiple legitimate reasons why they would not have raced in over 4 weeks.
I am concerned that presenting these dogs publicly as “missing” risks creating a false impression of widespread misconduct within the industry without sufficient factual basis.
Given the Charity Commission’s guidance regarding responsible campaigning, accuracy of public communications, and protection of public trust and confidence in charities, I respectfully ask whether this form of campaigning language is consistent with those expectations.
This particular charity has previously been subject to action by The Advertising Standards Authority for publishing misleading claims.
We’ve launched Greyhound Watch exposing the reality of greyhound racing.
📢 600+ dogs fell during races in England this year
📢 123 killed on UK tracks in 2024
📢 2,000+ disappeared from records
Where are these dogs GBGB ⁉️

Dear @AnimalAid
I am writing regarding your recent statements and publications concerning the greyhounds “kilgarran dolly”, “speedy pear” and “speedy glacisboy”.
You have publicly and/or privately implied that the dogs were “missing” and requested that I complete forms or otherwise “report this dog as found”, despite there being numerous legitimate reasons why a greyhound may not have raced for a period of time.
Greyhounds may be absent from racing for reasons including, but not limited to:
- injury recovery or rehabilitation;
- seasonal rest;
- breeding arrangements;
- private rehoming;
- rehoming through recognised charities;
- ownership or kennel transfers; and
- routine breaks from racing.
Your statements falsely imply misconduct, negligence, welfare breaches, or dishonesty on my part without any proper factual basis. Such allegations are capable of causing serious harm to my reputation within the greyhound racing industry and beyond.
I require that you:
1. Immediately cease making or repeating these allegations;
2. Remove any existing posts, comments, or publications referring to the dogs as “missing” or otherwise improperly unaccounted for;
3. Refrain from contacting third parties with similar allegations;
4. Confirm in writing within 7 days that you have complied.
Should these defamatory statements continue, I reserve all rights available to me, including pursuing legal remedies under the laws of England and Wales.
This letter is sent in an effort to resolve the matter amicably and without further escalation.
Yours sincerely,
Nathan Stevens
