“Reining in data centers” is consistent with Libertarian principles when the target is govt favoritism, not private enterprise.
Property owners remain free to sell, build, or refuse development. The objection is to subsidies, tax abatements, publicly financed infrastructure, preferential utility arrangements, transparency harming non-disclosure agreements, and shifting electricity, water, infrastructure, or long-term development costs onto taxpayers and neighboring communities.
@DonCKissick has made clear that data-center investors should bear the actual costs and risks of their projects, not residents and tax-payers.
Govt should protect property rights, apply rules equally, and stop using public resources to subsidize politically favored development.
