@BearJFK No, It's the tech companies who wanted this too so their data mining makes them more money. Meta/Apple were the first ones to push for all of this, and because most of these countries governments are getting paid by said tech companies, this is coming to every country soon.
@Shakacarnage@blixberrie Ok hand me your phone and let me go through all your private photos/texts then, because that's what you are giving these tech companies/governments access to if this digital ID trojan horse succeeds. The data breaches are about to become much worse when they inevitably happen.
@RealNicoLagan Since they are both getting paid by the same tech giants who want more valuable biometric data to sell to advertisers, it's always about the money.
here's what will happen.
- u16 ban passes, platforms must verify all ages
- kids use VPNs, government bans VPNs
- age verification infrastructure already exists, its scope gets broader, more invasive, more extreme
- Online Safety Act forces backdoors into encrypted messaging, E2E encryption dies, gov can read everything you ever send
- CBDC rolls out, your internet passport and financial passport become the same document
- anonymous accounts posting "wrongthink" are now identifiable + prosecutable
- the generation that grows up with this doesn't remember it being any other way
- George Orwell was right about everything
- it's over
Starmer: We want to digitally ID everyone who uses social media
Brits: Absolutely Not!
Starmer: OK then, we want to ban under 16s from social media (by digitally ID-ing everyone)
Brits: OMG that’s a great idea. Idk what idiot would be against that 🥴
@MichealMartinTD 1. AI becomes a thing, 2. internet gets flooded with untrackable bots making most big tech companies data worthless, 3. they lobby governments to introduce digital id so their data mining is profitable again. 4. Enjoy the inevitable data breaches, loss of privacy and free speech.
@TheBlueWave2026@Keir_Starmer@grok It's not about that, it's big tech companies wanting everyone to connect their IDs to their social media, so the data they collect becomes more valuable, governments are going along with it because they benefit too from having an even more air tight surveillance state. read 1984
@agnesschattt@Black_Rubro75@fachopxt It's the same reason some people are born with blonde hair and when they get to 5+ years old it gets darker or turns black.
