《Architecture Trivia》The exterior of the Dojunkan wing of Omotesando Hills has been largely unchanged, but the ceilings on each floor have been raised higher than the original,so the windows on the 1st and 3rd floors are positioned at different heights than usual. In addition, the interior of the building was designed for convenience and safety by widening the staircase and adding glass fences which the original building did not have .
(the former Dojunkai Aoyama Apartments, completed in 1927, were demolished in 2003 and reborn on the east end of the site where no apartments once stood, with some of the stair railings and other architectural elements reused to faithfully recreate the exterior as "Dojun Wing".)

Hitomi Misumi Solo Exhibition: "Threshold II"
June 22 (Mon) – June 24 (Wed) 12:00 - 15:00
Constructed by stringing a single thread across a frame, this work is not about depicting a human figure. Instead, it focuses on how the viewer perceives an image and generates meaning from it. Up close, the image dissolves into the mere trajectory of the thread; from a distance, it re-emerges as a human form. The subject's presence is not fixed within the artwork itself, but rather arises anew each time within the viewer's perception.
Through the intersection of the tangible material of thread, the physical boundary of the frame, and the viewer's cognitive awareness, this piece questions the very act of "seeing."

Biography
SEKAInoMARINA began her artistic practice in 2021. Working across calligraphy, painting, and photography, she has developed a distinctive visual language of her own.
In 2025, an installation featuring her subtropical plant photographs was presented as part of a satellite exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
In the field of calligraphy, she founded "Basho – Field Calligraphy," a unique artistic approach through which she explores moments when presence emerges within space through ink, lines, and silence.
To date, she has held four solo exhibitions in Japan. In April 2026, she participated in Art Expo New York, followed by a solo exhibition held in DUMBO, Brooklyn, New York, from May 15 to 19, 2026. She is also scheduled to present her second solo exhibition in Brooklyn, New York, from October 1 to 14, 2026.

“I paint with the hope that a single grain of happiness will spread into thousands of moments of joy.”
Drawing inspiration from Shibuya and Harajuku, this exhibition expresses the flashes of inspiration received from people moving through the city, and the energy shared between the city and its people—transforming them into happiness for the viewer.
The exhibition features award-winning and selected works from the Shoto Museum of Art (Shibuya City), selected works from the All Japan Painting Grand Prize Exhibition (The National Art Center, Tokyo / Minato City), as well as other works that I have carefully created and cherished over the years.
Each piece has been made with heartfelt care.
I sincerely hope that every visitor will leave the gallery carrying even a single grain of happiness in their heart.

Masahiro Nakagawa
The World of Ma-Nori & Maki-Nori Yuzen dyeing
November 20 (Thu) – November 25 (Tue), 2025
11:00–19:00 (Closes at 13:00 on the final day)
In his studio in Yase, northern Kyoto, Masahiro Nakagawa single-handedly carries out every step of his work—from sketching and selecting designs and fabrics to creating and applying traditional Japanese resist pastes, such as manori, makinori, shirozukenori, and icchinnori, through to the final dyeing. Manori, a time-honored starch paste dating back to the Muromachi and Momoyama periods, is highly resistant to dye and forms the basis for other pastes.
This painstaking process requires great time, effort, and perseverance, but by bringing out the intrinsic brilliance of natural silk and combining it with his keen artistic sensitivity, Nakagawa creates works of distinctive beauty and refined dignity.
This exhibition features a diverse selection of his pieces, including kimono, obi sashes, folding screens, and framed dyed textiles. We invite you to experience the world of Masahiro Nakagawa, where the enduring traditions of Japanese craftsmanship continue to shine.
