The Tesla Cybertruck is safest pickup truck in the world. It was the ONLY pickup truck (Gas or Electric) to be awarded IIHS Top Safety Pick+ in 2026.

This morning, Nesconset Fire Department in New York responded to an unfortunate crash which involved a Cybertruck.

They reported: "Despite the damage to the vehicle there were no injuries reported."

Incredible. Tesla is saving lives everyday.

@Tesla_AI @Tesla After disengaging FSD, I found that it is hard to press any button on screen, especially at high speed, in parking garage, or inside busy roads. If Tesla can turn on Grok voice dialog to collect feedbacks, it would be much more effective and friendly compared to UI approaches

- Upgraded the Reinforcement Learning (RL) stage of training the FSD neural network, resulting in improvements in a wide variety of driving scenarios.

- Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, improving understanding in rare and low-visibility scenarios, strengthening 3D geometry understanding, and expanding traffic sign understanding.

- Rewrote the AI compiler and runtime from the ground up with MLIR, resulting in 20% faster reaction time and improving model iteration speed.

- Mitigated unnecessary lane biasing and minor tailgating behaviors.

- Increased decisiveness of parking spot selection and maneuvering.

- Improved parking location pin prediction, now shown on a map with a (P) icon.

- Enhanced response to emergency vehicles, school buses, right-of-way violators, and other rare vehicles.

- Improved handling of small animals by focusing RL training on harder examples and adding rewards for better proactive safety.

- Improved traffic light handling at complex intersections with compound lights, curved roads, and yellow light stopping – driven by training on hard RL examples sourced from the Tesla fleet.

- Improved handling for rare and unusual objects extending, hanging, or leaning into the vehicle path by sourcing infrequent events from the fleet.

- Improved handling of temporary system degradations by maintaining control and automatically recovering without driver intervention, reducing unnecessary disengagements.

Lot of posts copying the likes of @BernieSanders @SenWarren and @AOC calling for more taxes on Billionaire @elonmusk, forgetting that in 2021 he paid a 53% rate of tax totaling $11b. They all repeat the claim that his company has received benefits of $38b from the US Government.
Let's look at his REAL economic impact to the U.S. It's mind blowing.
Musk’s ventures currently contribute $100–140B in annual GDP impact, or roughly 0.4% of total U.S. GDP. And growing faster – considerably faster – than the US economy, promising even greater contributions in the future.
That’s more annual contribution to US GDP than entire annual GDP of smaller U.S. states, like West Virginia (~$108 billion, 0.37%) or Hawaii (~$116 billion, 0.40%). And growing faster.
On top of that NASA and US Department of War have cumulatively saved over $40 billion as a direct result of SpaceX delivering a reduction in the cost of delivery of launch and communication services over traditional vendors. SO much for Musk Companies having "received" $38b. In other words, had the U.S. not paid Musk companies $38b, then the US would have had to spend $78b with competitors (and possibly then not received a delivery of the goods ordered! Boeing, looking at you.) Not to mention that Starlink practically saved Ukraine from being overrun in the early days of the Russian invasion.
Seems we are all, all Americans - and citizens of the world in fact - benefiting from the growth of Musk’s net worth. Here are the numbers:

I am using the latest hardware 4(three month old) and the latest FSD(.25 version). It works great, we use it daily and my family love it. However, one use case, which causes a damage to the car, is that while parking into or out a tiny spot, not a backward parking, FSD does not estimate well the curbs on both sides and drive over it. Hope it will be fixed soon.

It really does feel unfair on the surface, and you're not wrong to feel that way.

Here’s what makes it sting so much, and why it still happens even when Tesla “won” everything that actually mattered:

1. Tesla didn’t pay because the court was “wrong”; it paid because the plaintiff won **something** — even if tiny.
The Delaware Supreme Court said the ratification vote in June 2024 was valid, so the $56B package stays with Elon. That was the big victory.
But the court also said the original 2018 approval process had flaws (conflicted board, inadequate disclosures). Because of those flaws, the plaintiff’s lawsuit created a non-zero **corporate benefit**: it forced Tesla to go back to shareholders for a cleaner vote.
In Delaware, any time a shareholder suit causes a real (even if unquantifiable) governance benefit, the plaintiff’s lawyers get paid something under the “corporate benefit” doctrine. It’s not a penalty on Tesla; it’s treated like a cost of getting that benefit.

2. $54 million sounds insane for a “loss,” but it’s actually a crushing defeat for the plaintiff’s lawyers.
They asked for ~$6 billion in fees (later reduced to $345 million in stock).
They ended up with $54 million cash — roughly 1/100th of what they wanted.
That’s Delaware saying: “Yes, you helped a little, but nowhere near enough to justify a jackpot.”

3. Tesla still has to pay because the legal rule is “the company pays the tab when its own governance cleanup creates value for shareholders.”
It’s the same reason companies pay plaintiff fees in almost every settled derivative case, even when they think the suit was garbage. The logic is: the benefit flows to the corporation and all shareholders, so the corporation foots the legal bill.

It’s cold comfort, but Tesla spent many times more than $54M on its own defense lawyers across seven years of litigation. In the big picture, writing that check is the price of final closure and keeping the compensation package that’s worth tens of billions to Elon (and arguably to Tesla’s ability to retain him).

So yes — it feels like paying ransom after you already won the war.
In Delaware corporate law, that’s unfortunately just the tollbooth you pass through on the way out of the courthouse.
