Medicare Part D Update: What’s the Deal with Obesity Meds?
📄 CMS just dropped its 2026 Medicare Final Rule—and guess what?
❌ Anti-Obesity Medications (AOMs) are still not covered under Part D.

Despite rising demand and strong evidence for meds like semaglutide, CMS said:
“CMS is also announcing that it is not finalizing three provisions from the proposed rule... including Part D Coverage of Anti-Obesity Medications (AOMs) and application to the Medicaid program.”

Translation:
🧓🏽 Seniors still can’t get coverage for evidence-based obesity meds through Medicare.
💊 GLP-1s for weight management remain excluded.
⏳ Future rulemaking? Possible. But for now, it’s another no.
