When celebrities or public figures label voters as “stupid” or “uneducated,” it says far more about their disconnect from everyday life than it does about the people they’re criticizing.

Americans vote for many reasons: their families, their businesses, their communities, their values, and the future they want for their children. Reducing that to an insult isn’t thoughtful commentary, it’s careless and irresponsible.

And while we’re at it, maybe we should all agree on one basic standard: political disagreement should never turn into threats or violence. A healthy country requires respect for different views, not attempts to silence or harm people who think differently.
