I often think about @jessicacandrews words at @ClassFestival : ‘I’d never had any money anyway, so there wasn’t that fear there of something to lose’. I can’t wait to employ that in my life, maybe blowing government debt on a PhD, maybe within my writing - remembering I am free.

The cult of capitalism is gross, but the cult of boot licking from the working class makes my stomach churn - we need to stay together, stay real, and not internalise what destroyed our childhoods

And we are the furthest from ‘financially secure’ enough to do this, so we can’t protest loudly as we’re scared. But we can at least listen to each other, prioritise each other, remember that any person is only as good as how they treated the ‘lowliest’ person they know

There’s a fatigue which sits alongside the belly fire that something like @ClassFestival ignites in you as a working class artist / and I think that juxtaposition is beautiful. Like a cooling breeze in a heatwave; those moments of stillness & reflection bed down beneath the rage

can’t stop thinking about @LongfellaPoet comments in the working class writers panel discussion - about how hard it is for a workingclass person to even set foot in an art house cinema.

We, those who work in cinemas, need to do EVERYTHING to make them accessible - we are missing so much talent. It shouldn’t be down to marginalised groups to do this work, but there’s strength in numbers. So grateful for @natashacarthew & @ClassFestival - my mind’s been awoken
