AI agents can improve at new tasks by rewriting the code that runs them, while their model weights stay frozen!

A new paper explores "harness learning": training a model to revise another agent's harness, the code controlling its model calls, tools and information flow. It reads execution feedback, changes the workflow, and tries again. Once trained, it can do this on new tasks without further weight updates.

Across 21 unseen reasoning task families, average scores from revised harnesses rose from 32% with the untrained revision model to 62% after reinforcement learning. The trained 4B model even produced better revisions on average than its 35B teacher. In multi-hop question answering, improvements continued over repeated revision rounds and transferred to unseen benchmarks.

What I find exciting is that the ability to improve the workflow itself transfers. Imagine coding agents that learn from failed runs and adapt how they search, test and use tools. This paper gives us a concrete reason to pursue that.

❗️ The world's biggest anime piracy site HiAnime's suspected operators have been arrested in Vietnam.

Vietnamese police say the group ran 100+ piracy sites since 2020, uploaded 26,000+ films, and pulled in roughly $12.85 million in ad revenue. Four suspects are in custody; three are under travel restrictions.

The arrests follow a multi-year investigation supported by US Homeland Security Investigations, the DOJ, and anti-piracy coalition ACE.
